FRONT!!! Even semis do this. Got to be able to steer well. Front blowouts suck,

I have my tires rotated every 6,000 miles. They wear more evenly and last a lot longer.

I got two tires at Costco, wanted them mounted on front. they said they had to be mounted on rear, because of oversteer. I said what about Braking, Steering, Driving(FWD)?
And then they didn't inflate them to factory spec. Low tire light came on had 30psi (factory 33). Tires will lose pressure in cold temps.
I'm not very happy with Costco Service.

@skutfarcus : I do also , but wanted new tires with better tread on front for the winter.
Remember when we had snow tires that we would put on for winter?

I was pleased with Costco. They told me that I would need to go back after driving on my new tires for a couple days for a pressure check.

This is the logic behind having new tires on the rear
(TireRack employee's visited Michelin's test track and were given cars with worn fronts or rears)
m.tirerack.com/tires /tiretech/techpage.j sp?techid=52
It didn't take long for this hands-on experience to confirm that the "proving grounds" name for the facility was correct. The ability to sense and control predictable understeer with the new tires on the rear and the helplessness in trying to control the surprising oversteer with the new tires on the front was emphatically proven.

And even though our drivers had the advantage of knowing we were going to be challenged to maintain car control, spinouts became common during our laps in the car with the new tires on the front and the worn tires on the rear. Michelin advises us that almost every driver spins out at least once when participating in this demonstration!

@NoTime : Also sells more tires, ever had a blowout on front, or skid when braking?
Love having RWD and going to an empty snow covered parking lot, to do skid outs. everyone should know how to control a skid out. all my kids did.

@JL0129 :
From what my friends tell me, I must be one of the last people on earth who still mounts snowtires every year. I've had a set for every car I've owned. Well, except for my current car. I have a 4x4 now and I wanted to wait it out and see if I really needed them. They do help with traction, but this is a great deal heavier than my last few cars and so far that combined with the milder winters seems to make things work well. If I somehow knew we'd be getting a lot of snow, I'd get a set for sure.

@JL0129 : YES!! In a 27 foot class A RV on a highway in TX at 70 ish. It was the Left front as soon as it went tried to pull me into the other lane with traffic FLYING past me. After we got stopped saw the steel wires had been smacking the 30-gallon propane tank which was full.
