First, disclosure. I've known Todd, the owner for years. I've even cooked there once for a special event. That being said, I don't know if I get special treatment or I'm just fortunate, but I've never had a bad meal or service there. I will say I have waited longer on a meal on an average business night than I thought I should have, but that I attribute to a kitchen issue and not a server issue, so thusly I'm not busting the service score. Even though they have really done wonders with the inside from the previous incarnation of 2 Chez, it still feels a "strip mallish". Arguably, the best calamari in Peoria. The house dressing tastes like a bacon laced tomato-basil vinaigrette. My favorite dinner is the pork chop marsala which is a 12 ounce, twin bone rib chop. Todd rotates his desserts frequently but you can usually find his creme brulee available.

A group of Peoria.com members had lunch together here last month and we had an enjoyable time. The food was very tasty and the menu choices were diverse. My only objection was they do not have a kids menu so the waitress offered to bring my daughter a grilled cheese but basically they put a slice of cheese in between 2 french bread slices and it was very dry and did not look good. Not very enjoyable for her but us girls had a good time. Maybe they don't welcome kids. Too bad. Because of that, I only gave the service a 3... otherwise it would have done better.

I'm sorry about the grilled cheese, I even remember the request. I have children of my own, but they usually split something off the regular menu. I never charge extra for splits for this reason. I will put together a children's menu this week. We love seeing families with their kids. We take our kids with us everywhere. Thanks for the posting, I appreciate the critique, and will learn from it.

Thanks for coming to 2 Chez, I have a bartender on the weekends. It would be nice to have a tender thru the week, but the bar business isn't there Mon-Thur, and with things being so tight with restaurant expenses I have not been able to justify it. Mabye if I had a steady tender on the weekdays I would increase bar business. Thanks for your honesty, I really appreciate it. It's the best way for me to improve my business.

I have eaten here 3 times and sent a friend here and all of those times have been the worst service. Unfriendly servers who are brand new and don't know anything about the food. We have also been overcharged twice and I had to argue with the server. She brought me a more expensive glass of wine than I ordered and tried to charge me for it when that is her mistake. She actually wanted to argue about it too! I have had salads brought before appetizers, food cleared before we were done, no bread, wrong salad dressings, and all done with attitude from the servers. No delicious food is worth being treated like that. I even warned my friend but said I hadn't been there for awhile so maybe they were better but nope, she agreed with me totally.
