We ate at the Burger Barge tonight. We love this place! Our first trip here made me wonder what kind of dive we were going into with my parents...boating items haphazardly strewn about and it looks like you are walking into the back of a ramshackle home. (It's an old sportmans' club and it is the back of an old ramshackle home.) The interior is dark and crowded with lots boating/fishing items hanging about. Once you get over the looks of the place you will have to spend a long time going over the extensive menu. Such a variety of foods but there is really only one choice...a burger. Now what to have on that burger? The dock sauce is a must. For the more adventurous there is the Mexican Burger, the Coney Burger, a blue cheese burger, or a burger topped with an egg?!?! Fresh made chips are my favorite but my family leans toward their fries. They have fried seafood, sub sandwiches, butterfly pork chops, wings, nachos and even loaded baked potatoes. Tonight we watched a couple who were new to the place asking the waitress about all the different items on the menu. We smiled knowing they will be back.

I went to the Burger Barge for the first time after reading all the wonderful reviews and I was happy with the food but the entire dining area was FILTHY. If you eat there try not to look at the knick knacks hanging on and around the cieling. A two inch thick layer of dirt dust and whatever else is everywhere. And the service would have been ok except for the fact that my waiter was late getting everything and was sweating profusly- almost to the point I was uncomfortable eating the food. His name was Andre and he wasn't very polite either. Just for the record.

Great, huge burgers (9 oz!) and good service. I like sitting out on the patio much more than indoors, and there are also boat docks for access from the river.

Restaurant is wonderful. Great quality, great price, great service. Too much food for one person so take a friend or be prepared to carry out tomorrows dinner. Only drawback was too much smoke. :(

Good argument for best burger in Peoria.
Get some friends and try the bait bucket. A huge bucket filled with fried assortments. And you get to keep the bucket!

The variety of burgers is excellent- there are some really neat ones to try. Atmosphere is cramped and the place does look bad from the outside, but it is truly a casual diamond in the ruff. Service is quick and courteous. The value is very good. Great burgers and fries for under $10/person.

This is one of my parents favorite places to go when they visit me. It sure looks like a dump from the outside, but don't let that keep you away. The inside is much cleaner than you would think. The food is so good, big juicy burgers, the most tender pork chop sandwich I've ever tasted, and you can't forget to get some of those homemade chips. Also, Ive always had good service.

I ate here a few months ago for the first time. The burgers are huge and there are so many cool types to choose from. I went during supper time and it was extremely crowded, the only table available was very uncomfortable. Service was still quick and friendly. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get!
