The Taj is my first choice for dining anywhere in Central Illinois. Why, because they do not use msg or other flavor enhancing neurotoxins in their food. I am very sensitive to them and find it wonderful to fill up as I please and feel great afterwards. My wife and I have eaten here five times and the results are consistently great. Pricing could be lower but after eating at other places such as Aachis I find it refreshing to experience great tasting food that is actually healthy. No more feeling drugged and sluggish with skipping heart incidences during the night. We love the flavors here and the service has been wonderful.

Really enjoyed the food, music, environment. It was really nice to hear alive Indian DJ. Food was great. My whole family ordered only two meals n one bread for everybody. It was my kid's birthday, so the server specially brought birthday cake on the table, and DJ played birthday song. It was her best birthday on Indian restaurant. I never saw this on other Indian restaurants. There was also a dinner buffet, i guess with more than 8 or 10 dishes. I will love to tke friends and family there

It is one of our favorite restaurant in Peoria with the great food. We really enjoyed the music and flavors. Keep it up Taj

I really wanted to like this place. When I saw the banner announcing "Taj Of India Coming Soon", I couldn't wait for them to open. I tried this place three times over the past year: once for the lunch buffet; once for the dinner buffet; and once for dinner, ordering off the menu. The lunch and dinner buffets were both bad. There was not enough variety, and the food didn't taste good. The gulab jamum tasted like it was out of a can that was out-dated. Despite these negative dining experiences, I decided to give them one more chance, this time ordering off of the dinner menu. The Malai Kofta was so salty, it was barely edible, and the naan was burnt to a crisp. Most Indian restaurants have a "thali" option, but Taj of India doesn't. In fact, if you want rice, you're going to pay extra. I've never heard of rice not coming with your entree. Bad food, high prices, horrible value... The only positive thing I can say is that the server was nice. I've eaten Indian food at lots of restaurants all over the world. Taj Of India is the worst Indian food I've ever had.
