This is an outstanding place to take someone to dump them. You will not have fond memories of this place so make as many bad ones as you wish.

Three chances to clean it up in here and they fail all 3??? This place is disgusting and should be shut down!
Bennigan's Tavern & Grill, 500 Hamilton Blvd., Peoria, scored a 72 on Sept. 1. Violations included: No scoop for flour container; buffet utensils for potentially hazardous foods stored outside of food; wet wiping cloth was laying on bar counter top; interior of microwave, can opener and ice cream freezer were soiled; handles of pull drawers in kitchen were soiled; buffet bowls were improperly stored; sewer gas smell detected in back area prep room; no soap and paper towels at bar area hand sink and back prep room hand sink; mouse droppings were found in corner of bar; cockroaches were found throughout kitchen area; fruit flies were observed at the dishwash machine; food debris was found in back corner of dish machine room and underneath dish machine; walls and ceilings were soiled throughout kitchen; potentially hazardous foods were held at improper temperatures; potentially hazardous foods not labeled with date of preparation; chaffing fuel containers were stored on bar counter; spray bottles were incorrectly labeled or not unlabeled; iced tea container was without a lid.
Bennigan's Tavern & Grill, 500 Hamilton Blvd., Peoria, scored a 72 on Sept. 9. Violations included: Plastic single use cups without handles used as scoops in several food items and stored in the food; ice scoop at bar stored with handle in the ice; employee cleaned counters then immediately filled lettuce and touched it with bare hands; employee touched egg rolls with bare hands without handwashing; two open drinks found in kitchen; wet wiping cloth found on counter in kitchen; soiled tongs stored on prep table; bowls at buffet line improperly stored; drains of hand sinks throughout kitchen draining slowly; drain flies were present in washing area; floors throughout were soiled in corners, around edges and behind equipment; open gallons of milk on cookline and in bar area not date marked; berry cobbler in walk-in cooler held more than a week past discard date; marker found in sauce on cookline; employees on cookline handling foods with bare hands.
Bennigan's Tavern & Grill, 500 Hamilton Blvd., Peoria, scored a 79 on Sept. 19. Violations included: Utensils stored in sanitizing bucket on cookline; prepared and cooled foods not labeled with time of preparation; no sanitizer detected in dish machine; drain flies present in drain near dish machine; floors at bar area soiled under equipment; drain at dish machine soiled; walk-in freezer leaking, causing ice to build up on floors and boxes of food; potentially hazardous foods held at improper temperatures; gallon of milk in reach-in cooler not date marked; boxes of food were stored on floor of walk-in freezer.

Be warned, this is NOT the Bennigan's of times past. I'm not sure how they kept the name, but Bennigan's went out of business in 2008. It has since been sold to a private equity group. The food is not anywhere near the same, and the service at this location has always been awful. Who knows how they've stayed open-
