INGREDIENTS
3 C boiling water
3 chicken boullion cubes
**OR**
3 Cups of chicken broth
1/2 box Fideo Vermichelli, broken up
3 T chopped onion
1-1/3 C long cooking rice
salt, pepper, basil, garlic to taste
optional yellow food coloring

DIRECTIONS
Boil water and prepare bouillon. Melt margarine in large skillet. Add onions and cook til transparent. Add vermicelli and brown. Add uncooked rice. CAREFULLY pour in bouillon (or broth) Add a few drops of yellow food color if desired. Add spices. Bring to boil. Reduce to simmer. Cover, then simmer for 15 mins. Remove from heat but do not uncover.Let stand for 15 mins. Serve. Makes about 5 cups.
