"This is by far the best italian beef I have ever eaten. A friend of my brothers loves to cook, he came up with this recipe.
4 lbs. Bottom round( or other cheaper cut of beef)
2 T. Coarse ground fennel
4 Bay leaves, crushed
6 cloves garlic, crushed
2 T. dried parsley
1/4 t. hot dried red pepper flakes
2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
8 T. water
Put all ingredients into a crock pot on low heat for 8-10 hours, or until the meat falls apart, or can be pulled apart. Be sure to remove the extra fat before shredding.
I usually shred the meat then let it set for a while longer so the meat absorbs the extra flavor.
