What happens when you get alzheimers? Or just plain old age? At least if you have (had) looks, even if a bit sagging, you got something to fall back on! lol

When you're 80 it would take a lot of plastic surgery to look 20 again no matter how stunning you may have been in your day

You never met my gramma then...

And just because one is 80 doesn't mean they have alzheimers and have lost all their intelligence, life learning and wit, either.

I think there is a beauty that comes with age that shines through no matter how hot, or not, a person was when they were young.

Beauty is relative. And so is smarts.

Someone can be attractive and be a total b*tch. In my book, not attractive.

Someone can be intelligent, by book standards, and be socially inept.

I think I'd like to be the person that can see past all of that and discover what makes a person tick..who they are..and why they react or behave the way they do. Knowing someone's life story or even getting to know them could change your perception of their beauty or their intelligence. It's all relative.

I would like to be dumb enough to have a happy reality, I'm almost there!

But I'm doing it without the looks....

My view is this; I consider myself a pretty smart guy, and that has gotten me a few places. I also consider myself a pretty ugly guy, which has hampered me a lot of times.

I would rather be good looking. It seems to me guys don't like smart girls.

she had to pick only one by the rules of this thread. Honestly, she's both. I married up.

Haha, Husband! Nice wooing...but seriously...I really do think a great majority of guys are intimidated by smart, opinionated women. I am by no means smarter than the average woman but I found myself having to "dumb it down" in high school and college to get a date. You can say that maybe it was the types of guys I was interested in but something tells me it wasn't because even now I find myself falling back on that "dumbing down" method when I'm in a group conversation dominated by men.

You are right! Guys say they want a smart confident woman but then run when there is one standing in front of them.
