First off...You get what you pay for? is not a question.

Secondly, I have said nothing to indicate I think people should give something for nothing, or should work for minimum wage.

As to your first statement...as Will Rogers says, "it's a good thing we don't get all the government we pay for"

Here is a great article in the Wall Street Journal by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Leslie, would love to know what you would have to say to Megan Sampson, Wisconsin's first year "Teacher of the Year" who was laid off the very next year because of her lack of seniority. Just you and her. Go ahead. Talk to her....what would you say?

I am actually reading the link you provided and the other links in that article before I have a knee jerk reaction.

It makes sense...MPS graduates less than 50% of its incoming HS freshmen...why would you want new teachers there? Obviously the status quo is working...we need more tenure!

I wonder how much they budgeted for all the recall elections that are going to happen now?

How can that possibly be a threat? They were just elected 3 months ago and did exactly what they said they were going to do. You really think the electorate changes their minds that quickly? Empty threats and totally wishful thinking.

I know what I'd say to her now that collective bargaining is going away. I'd say "keep up the good work young lady. Your future employment is contingent upon continued hard work and performance, not seniority and tenure. You cannot get lazy and apathetic like your predecessors did."

Which elected people campaigned on eliminating collective bargaining rights for public workers?

Its funny how a story about a promising young school teacher getting fired turns into something about unions, when isn't it more about the rampant and deep cuts to our education system that got her fired and not the union. These budget cuts have consequences...

Really? I mean, I know those Dems fled the state to keep from doing the job they were elected to do, but do you really think they'll recall them?
They deserve it, don't get me wrong.

Yes, three of the 14 dems that fled the state are eligible to recalled this year and its probable that they will. I think there are 8 republicans eligible for recall of which they are expecting to recall 3. And then of course eventually the governor.

Doubt that will happen. The "support" will dry up and go back to their homes across the nation, wherever the union bosses rounded them up and imported them from. The hype will die down, and the recall will ultimately fail.

Same fate that befell the Obamacare repeal.

Maybe in four years he'll be ousted and a new governor will reinstate collective bargaining....but a recall won't happen.

My 2 cents. I could be wrong.
