I'm not here to ram anything down your throat. Again, this is an optional forum. You don't have to hang out here. Better yet, you can put me on ignore so you don't have to read what I write. You have many options.

BTW, I've lived your "other vision" and it left me very empty and unfulfilled. No thanks.

You have NO idea what my "vision" is, so you can't say you lived it.

It is optional, you are right. I also have the option to have my opinions and voice them the same as you do. The difference is, I am willing to read and try to understand where you are coming from. "You" think you know me and are unwilling to read and try to understand any viewpoint but your own.

So how is that different than what you're trying to do to me? You don't know me at all either yet you continue to lump me in with all other "Christians" you claim to know. Voice your opinions all you want but don't claim we're trying to ram them down your throat when you're the one who keeps showing up here to read them.

You continually claim yours is the right version, how do you know that? There are many different flavors of Christianity and nearly every one has different meanings on the SAME version of the Bible. Look at how many different versions of the Bible are there, many verses in each are different.

The problem is, as I have said before its the hypocrisy; along with the changing of meanings that is done to fit each occasion please just find one meaning for a verse and/or a word and stick to it.

Froggy, as I have said before you are the best person here at explaining your side in a meaningful manner. I don't doubt your faith in your belief system, it works for you and I am happy it does.

I'm happy, too.

Look, I don't believe that any one church/religion is more right than any another as long as they believe that Jesus was the son of God, that He's the only way to get to Heaven, and they teach from the Bible.

Now, with that being said, there are certainly churches that do better at teaching the word of God than others. There are also churches that do better at learning the word of God than others. This is the kind of church I'm in now, which I truly enjoy but that doesn't make my previous churches wrong. It just makes them *lacking.*

I didn't learn anything about Jesus or the Bible when I was a Lutheran. Heck, bringing a Bible to church wasn't even an option. I didn't even own one. Why would I? We never used it. However, in spite of what I did or didn't learn, that church still teaches that Jesus is the only way and that God is a very loving God and if you accept Jesus into your heart then you'll see eternal life.

By comparison, my childhood best friend and her family are truly devout Christians--they put God before everything, they study the Bible, they practice its teachings. They volunteer in their community. AND, they're Baptist. Their church is very much Bible-led. Are they any more Christian than me? Probably. Are they going to Heaven and I'm not? Not according to scripture because the Bible assures me that I'm saved.

The bottom line is this: you can sit there and pick apart every single church in your community because of their interpretation of the Bible but in the end it isn't going to matter. God is going to base our salvation on whether or not we believed in Jesus and accepted Him into our hearts--not on how well we recited the Nicene Creed or if we stopped to help that old lady with her flat tire.

8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:8

"I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book," -Joseph Smith

“We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. These are incomprehensible ideas to some, but they are simple. It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God, and to know that we may converse with him as one man converses with another, and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did, and I will show it from the Bible” -Joseph Smith

There are many different flavors of Christianity, who's to see which is right and which is wrong? Only way anybody will know is when they are dead, their only hope is they didn't choose the wrong flavor. Wrong flavor, you go to Hell.

The problem with a lot of those "flavors" is that they either deviate from, or they twist or cherry pick from the scriptures.

Everything you guys bring up is covered in the Bible. Granted, you have to look for it, but still, it's in there.

Last night at my Bible Study, a guy was telling us about his conversations with a Jewish co-worker and he said that "she knows I'm a Christian."

Personally, I don't like labels, so I don't really ever say, "I'm a Christian." I say I'm a man who follows the teachings of the Bible and try to live the way the Bible tells me to live. The way it tells me to live may not be the same way it tells others to live, which is the cool thing about philosophy, although it's all based on the same basic principles; Love God. Love People. Accept Jesus Christ.

You are assuming that your version is the correct one, and their's is incorrect. Making an assumption like that is dangerous, it lead to other assumptions; and you know what they say happens when you begin to assume.

There's no "version". There's the Bible. I can't tell you I have an affiliation with any "version". Not Catholic, Lutheran, Protestant, etc...
