Seal you call it a fairy tall. But you stand up for what you beleive. Yes our country will go fight in some other land. So to say to protect us when we can even take care of our selfs. There is no need for people to starve here there is no need for people to be homeless or not able to pay there billsThe billions of dollars spent on war could be used in better ways. to me thats a fairy tail.

There's a lot of tragedy in the world, especially when it comes to the kids. I don't really have an explanation for that.
But, in the case of people who are dying of cancer, for example, like my Dad did; God didn't put a drink in his hand every waking minute. He didn't put a cigarette in anyone's mouth, nor did he force them to eat processed, hormone injected foods their entire lives. It sucks, but a lot of people create their own Hell. |

The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
12We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.c 14The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgement 1 Corinthians 2:10-15 |

God gave us the choice of free will. Just as we live today. We choose what we want in our lifes. Sure there are many ways to look at things. I know many people that have been with God from child hood and there are many that have different trails. But to talk to them there is nothing better than God in there life there is no blame game with them. People have allways choice in there life just like yes or no some people choose yes but they know the no is the answer. I have come to know God as a friend some one that walks with me everyday. Not allways do I do the right thing but I try to live by his standards. But these words allways ring out/////(Ecclesiastes 9:11) 11 I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. . .

So, only bad things happen to bad people? You know that's not true, and when bad things happen to good people, well out comes the old tried and true, "It's god's will" or "He has a higher purpose for that person that we mere mortals can't fathom". Spare me.

Of course that's not true. Bad things happen to everyone. Many people bring it on themselves and some people succumb to it, while others find strength in their faith.
I think everyone has their own 40 years of wandering in the desert |

Seal, we've had this conversation in depth before-- yes, bad things happen but, the truth is, evil exists and continues to overpower us. Most of it can be blamed directly on us.
I don't like that children suffer either but yes, God allows that to happen as well. Sometimes--probably more than we'll ever know--good comes from such suffering. Look at Ryan White who was a hemophiliac and later HIV positive. Had it not been him, who would have brought these two topics to the forefront where eventually the HIV positive stigma changed for the better? Ryan's suffering caused things to change and I think they changed faster because he was a child living with AIDS. Look at little Dax--his parents have done so much for other kids in his memory because of what they went through. They might never be able to stop childhood cancer but their fundraising might just be the catalyst that sets everything in motion for someone down the line to make that change. Sure, not all suffering brings about change on such a large scale but I still believe God uses such events to touch the lives of those He needs to touch. My own walk back to God started with the very unexpected loss of my sister's baby--it's one in a series of events in my life that led me as far away from Him as possible then boomeranged me back to where I am now--making me a serious, much stronger Christian than I ever thought I'd be. I was a lukewarm believer at best before this. I became a serious skeptic, even a non-believer after the loss of that baby. Now I can look back at that time in my life and see clearly that God used that event--and people he specifically introduced me to--to bring me back to Him. While I will always miss my nephew, I'm grateful to God for using that event to make me stronger. Sorry if this is not the answer you wanted to hear, Seal, but so many of these topics have been rehashed so many times already that I have nothing new to add. However, I am very willing to continue this conversation if you have any more questions. |

So basically you are saying its good that kids suffer because your "God" has decided that is how "good" things happen.
I kind, and loving "God", or person for that matter, wouldn't want a child to suffer needlessly. The people that do want to see this, well they are generally serial killers. |

In the grand scheme of things, man's time on Earth is, as everyone know, a blink of an eye. I single human's life is immeasurable in that realm of time. We're not able to see the "big picture" of all of time.
‘But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto Me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' Matt. 19: 14. `Suffer little children to come unto Me:' the word reminds us how, now still, our wisdom cannot understand that the kingdom and the little ones are specially fitted for each other. It is only as it were by sufferance that the religion and the faith of a child is borne with; a thing not to be too much trusted or rejoiced in. Is a moment of suffering vs an eternity in Heaven such a big price to pay? |
