I don't think we are clickish but since you have only been on here for a little less than 3 weeks it will take some time for you to get to know everyone...I was on here for about 6 months before I started to feel like I knew people.

Why would I have to get to know people to feel welcome here? I don't really care to KNOW anyone here. It should just be a place where ANYONE can come and go as they please. Who you know on the side is your business. Don't make it a prerequisite to being a part of the forum! I am sure that was not the original intent of starting this web page up!

Prerequisite for .... what?

Am I reading this to say that you don't really desire to be part of the community (which is perfectly ok,) but you want to be able to post occasionally and say "hey, I am looking for a good Italian restaurant" or "Does anyone know of a good electrician?"

That is not only perfectly acceptable, but encouraged I'm sure.

I'm a little confused though. By labeling our forum as "cliquish" that implies that you're being excluded from the community. We responded by more or less welcoming you aboard, and now you're saying what you said.

Help me understand -- what exactly are you wanting to do?

Some people don't get that when a large group of people come together and share thought, ideas, personal experiences, etc, SOME of them may actually discover a chemistry and become actual friends, and since the place they met is something or some place they all enjoy, they may just spend a lot of time there.

Of course we're talking about someone with 72 posts talking about people with thousands, each, so is more or less the new kid on the block and wants to be accepted as, what, an old friend or something?

Thanks for validating my thought from before. So what you are saying is the number of one's posts defines one's position within a group? Gotcha.

No, the length of time and their involvement and interaction with the other members does, though.

And like I said, just because someone posts on a public form does not mean they are required to meet and interact with everyone to be considered 'in' with the group.

You count my posts as of to be lurking at my actions. If I remember correctly, it is the behind the scenes posts that sometimes count for more.

My opinion was asked. I gave it.

The person or persons my original post to this thread refers to will know what I am talking about.

Who said you were required to do anything???
It's your choice, cultivate friendships online and transfer them to real life, or just stay anonymous. Who cares? Seriously!?

There are people on here than no one, or very few people have ever met that are active participants on the forum.
Themrs is one.

Conversely, it seems that you expect to sit there and not post and/or participate (and therefore not let anyone know anything about you) but still be included on what you call "the clique."

You are very correct. Nobody here is required to do anything. There are no membership points, secret clubs, or anything like that.

Nobody is counting your posts. On your member profile, it says right there in the middle the date you joined, and off to the left your post count.

I am now done explaining to you.

Mr. Jeep Pilot; You are sorely mistaken if you translated anything I have said into my desire to be included in any clique whatsoever.

Oh, and I did not ask for any explaination.

I must have been mistaken. I was going by what you posted earlier:

I was only commenting that this place should be more un-clickish. I never said I wanted to be a part of it!
