Convicted felons (ex-prisoners) cannot sit for the bar exam in any state I can think of….they’d have to somehow get an exception from the state’s Supreme Court to sit for it and it RARELY happens. Please name one or two ex-felons who are current lawyers.
There is no way that I could get you started on anything! My name is not Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh. I do listen to them occasionally, just as I listen to CNN and right now to Jim Lehrer's News Hour on PBS. In the case of the Denver marijuana laws, I certainly hope that all the media outlets that are tying the laws to the convention, also mention that the laws have been on the books since 2005. As far as law enforcement, I am sure there are far more important issues to be addressed in the next few days than some pothead with the munchies. Let that pothead turn to violence and he will most likely be arrested. I am really surprised that there are no Republican potheads. From what I have seen, it is pretty universal. I can respect a conservative opinion (Republican or Democrat) when their statements are backed by reputable fact sources. I do not count on the Huffington Post to give me a true picture of anything (usually I don't even read it unless someone posts a link) anymore than I count on Limbaugh or Beck to tell me the whole story. I am a little too old to be included in the "Hippie Generation. As an undergraduate, I attended a very conservative university where a pro-Viet Nam rally was being held at the time most colleges were going to the other direction. I was in a History class when I heard that JFK had been shot. I saw Bobby Kennedy get shot. They were probably my biggest political influences. I vote in the Democratic Primary, but I don't think I have ever voted a straight ticket in a general election. I try to be open minded and listen to all sides of an issue before forming or stating an opinion. |

Peoria Pundit, the credit for that post goes to Leslie not myself. But I'm sure she thanks you. I think no matter who's "team" your on, that you would have to appreciate the humor behind the joke.

"Another question here...does everyone believe that Democrats are all stoners, and not one Republican smokes marijuana? Just curious...Would the law be the same in Denver if the Republican Convention were to be held there?"
The law would be the same if the Republican Convention were held in Denver. You should check out YouTube and look up SAFER (this was the ballot initiative that legalized possession of personal amounts of marijuana)-- they actually make some extremely relevant points, including the hipocrisy of a town with councilman who have liquor licenses (gee, does this sound familiar) also banning marijuana. Deaths directly from alcohol abuse far outweigh deaths from marijuana abuse. I challenge you to show one example of someone who died directly from Marijuana-- you won't because the number is zero (I said directly, not auto-related accidents). The number of direct deaths from alcohol is annually in the tens of thousands. I find it intellectually offensive to think there are no Republicans who use Marijuana. After all, the state that produces the most domestic marijuana in the US is Kentucky- a red state. This issue is not about Republican/Democrat however. After all, I think you will find from the tone of my other posts, I am a Republican. |

I think that it's really pathetic teach that everytime Ch Yah makes a post.....you have to say that she is on your ignore list. We are fully aware of that.
And we don't care. Why do you keep saying it. If you are ignoring her then please do just that. Ignore her. How annoying. |

Ramble On....Prisoners are now demanding the right to vote (98% are Democrats). These prisoners are also going to school to become judges and attornies (at the tax payer's expense)so don't even get me started on that subject! The media is only in favor of the democrats and most educators are too so don't get your curly tail in an uproar! I am well aware that I'm out-numbered! Please GOD, provide reliable statistics that show that 98% of ALL prisoners are democtrats. Gimme Amsterdamn or give me death! Actually, I just don't get a teacher that's against Prisoners LEARNING things, which may help make them a part of society, instead of being on the outside looking in and secondly, why would someone who has long blonde hair and stripper red lipstick even think of having a problem with strippers and sex. BTW, Strippers and sex = fun. No strippers and no sex = no fun! |

If felons could have voted, Gore would have won http://www.scienceblog.com/cms/comment/reply/708 quote from the article: The point of the article is that disenfranchising former felons has given the Republicans a political advantage. "By removing those with Democratic preferences from the pool of eligible voters, felon disenfranchisement has provided a small but clear advantage to Republican candidates in every presidential and senatorial election from 1972 to 2000," wrote Uggen and Manza. |

I'm gonna guess that 98% of prisoners probably wouldn't vote, even if they had the chance.
I never see too many thugs at the polls, each election |
