People get struck by lightning every day...Hell for that matter if I go to far north I might get attacked by a rampaging moose.

**** happens, deal with it.

>> comparison:
don't drive a car = removing stairs in your house.

wearing a seatbelt = securing yourself on a scaffold if you are going to wash windows on a large building.

@AverageJoe:

Washing windows on a tall building and walking up stairs are not the same thing. The point is that you can get hurt anytime but you don't live in a bubble to make sure you don't get hurt. Why should this be any different?

@HipKat:

EXACTLY -- NOT the same thing! seatbelt and harness on a scaffold are safety measures IN CASE OF ACCIDENT. Removing stairs in a house is not the same at all. Why put on a harness on a scaffold? **** happens, after all. don't live in a bubble...

First you have to have common since. Would you let your child stand up in the front seat a s you did while you were a child. I was at a stop and go light and got hit. Accidents happen there are chances you take every time you get in your vehicle

@tntrecycling:

exactly, common sense, and practical measures. equating wearing a seatbelt to removing stairs?? not very practical or common sense.

@AverageJoe:

Working on a scaffold is WAY more dangerous than driving around the neighborhood so no, it's not the same thing

>> I hope everyone choosing not to wear a seatbelt has a DNR and a VERY specific Living Will.

@Rixblix:

I chose to not bend over and take it up the @ss every time the insurance companies lobby the shills in Washington to take more freedoms away from us.

@HipKat:

What's with the need to be vulgar? Don't wear a seatbelt...wtf do I care? Oh wait...if you don't have insurance, who pays?

>> This is where a thread about seat belts leads? Good grief!

@skutfarcus:

When you and your buddy are sitting on the patio at Kenny's having a conversation about a specific topic, does it never veer off to include other thought?? and should it not when there is a large group of people in a conversation??

It NEVER turns into an arguement.

I chose to, not forced to and signing up for Health Care is not the same as wearing a Seatbelt. Good grief, you and Joe both with your inane comparisons

Don't wear a seatbelt then! Don't sign up for Health Care! But who do you think pays when the uninsured are life-flighted to OSF?
