Washing windows on a tall building and walking up stairs are not the same thing. The point is that you can get hurt anytime but you don't live in a bubble to make sure you don't get hurt. Why should this be any different?

EXACTLY -- NOT the same thing! seatbelt and harness on a scaffold are safety measures IN CASE OF ACCIDENT. Removing stairs in a house is not the same at all. Why put on a harness on a scaffold? **** happens, after all. don't live in a bubble...
