I like how when Schock is mentioned, people attack him personally but not his ideas. not on this thread as much, but at the Journal star, the thread is nothing but name calling and very little debate.
I like the people who think that sign makers are the key to economic recovery or that point out how little of the stimulus money the signs cost. The point is that we (concerned taxpayers) don't want to spend money on useless signs (that are arguably political signs of the "look what we are doing for" variety or AKA "bread and circuses"). The signs aren't helping our infrastructure, provide minimal jobs, and are a huge symbol of the wastefulness that has led us to our current financial state. I dare you to go to http://republicanwhip.house.gov/YouCut/ and not agree that at least one of those 5 options is a good idea. I would like the people in Congress to use my money wisely, and not just because they have a "we'll print more" or "we'll spend it because it might make jobs" mentality. Use that sign money to revamp the rail system. It's a better use! |

The cost of the signs is a pittance. It is a dumb idea and I've expressed it on another thread.

Me I am all for isolationism, and good insulation in Peoria houses.
The only trading partners we need, are our neighbors, on our Southern and Northern Borders. If we have anything to offer them, as an international hot dog stand of commerce. That's our ace up our sleeve. Delbert Shims I say we flush the toilet on the 9-11 Thing. Pull back all the kids from Iraq and Afghanistan, and let them be toy soldiers along our Southern Border. Let's mow our own yards,in Metro Atlanta Georgia, and places like that. |

This is off the subject, sort of...but what do you people think about elected officials names being put on signs...
I remember after Blago was impeached, there was rumblings of making it illegal... That would kill Jesse White...he's actually have to run a campaign |

I think it's a waste of money and an ego trip to put elected (or appointed or otherwise) officials names on signs, marketing materials, office supplies, etc. In four years (or whenever) when a new body takes the office, all the sh*t gets thrown out and replaced.

I don't think there is any doubt that the signs are a waste of money.. clearly they are.
But if we are going to start pointing out and passing resolutions against wasteful spending, lets do it. Lets not stop at the signs, Schock sign off on that one, you fake *%&$*%&*$* |

600,000 for worthless Signs.. BADDDDD.
37,000,000,000 for worthless war. Good Anyone know how much 37 Billion will cost Illinois tax payers? Every single penny adds directly to the national debt. Thanks Schock, for pulling some stupid publicity stunt over signs while we get robbed. |

I don't see an end of the war yet under the Democrats either. Maybe there is something more going on over there than we know if both sides don't want us out yet?
Schock is a good representative for us. He at least stand by his convictions, doesn't change with the wind. |

It took Lahood longer than that to become a total idiot and fool. He has reached his pinacle going with Obama and the cash for clunkers.
