What's the big deal about a picture of Obama in school? Were you equally offended by a picture of Bush in school?

When I was kid I recall pictures of Ford, Carter, and Reagan in the schools. Of course we also had a picture of the Pope and the bishop next to the picture of the president, in my school.

I don't recall my parents ever commenting or being offended by a picture of the president in school? I do remember getting a physical fitness certificate signed by president Carter when I was in grade school. I also remember getting a academic fitness certificate signed by Reagan when I was in high school.

Hate to break the news, but all schools hang pictures of the current President all over the building and I hate to break THIS news too, but Government assistance didn't start with Obama. Peoria schools have sucked through a lot of Presidents. And one more time, only 12 yrs out of the last 34 have been led by Democrat Presidents.

Welfare, food stamps, etc, been around a LONG time. And if you want to try and say that Obama has escalated those programs, probably has a lot to do with the rampant job loses that started under, umm, what was his name again?? Oh yeah, Bush, Republican.

Even so, this is just where we're at now after decades and decades of continual dismantling of the American foundation; Industrial jobs, gone over seas.

I think many of the problems that meanjar mentions existed before the blue collar jobs started to get sent overseas - we just were oblivious because they didn't effect us. But because of the export of industrial jobs, the middle class is shrinking and poverty is expanding, so we are more likely to interact with people below the poverty line now.

There was no pictures of The great one When i was in grade school, No pictures of Bush 1 there was one picture of clinton in my high school but we ran that hippie out of town. He is now teaching in a community that welcomes his kind it is in Russia.

We have only had males as Presidents, Chief Justices of the Supreme Court, Leaders of the Senate, and only one female Speaker. If you don't like the way men are treated you only have yourselves to blame.

If your party had control of schools, there would be no public schools. There would only be private schools available to those who could afford it. The less education a population has, the more the wealthy business owners can exploit them for cheap labor.

Last night on Fox news, they gave air time to people who promoted the notion that young people shouldn't go to school, nor should they vote. After the segment, the blow hard Rivera says "It makes sense." That is what republican party wants... a dumb population, who doesn't vote...
