#Romneyshambles

Romney is doing quite bang up job in London....he forgot the opposition party leader's name, talked about meeting with the leader of MI6, insulted London and said some things were 'disconcerting' about their preparedness for the Olympics, and was called out by David Cameron and the Mayor of London.

Well done, Mitt, well done.

@AV8R:

I am sure he is not going to see the Queen as he is not a head of state. Even so, he would not have to bow to the Queen as he is not a British subject.

These faux pas' pale in comparison to "you didn't build that!" or who can forget the famous "I will have more flexibility" after the election.

In Romney's case he didn't alienate anyone who could vote for him or sell us out to the Russians.

I did see bits and pieces of it. Ultimately I doubt it matters.

His "You didn't build it" comments solidify the image of a President who has little to no ability to create private sector jobs or grow the economy.

That's not the concern that people have with Romney.

Apples and oranges.

Does anything matter, jnj? Every issue people bring up with Romney you claim it doesn't matter.

@JnJ:

I see the "you didn't build that" as a non-issue. and, I'm quite certain that's not the whole sentence.

However, the "flexibility" comment was BAD. YIKES!

and Romney didn't look so good in the interview I saw.

@leslie110:

Yeah, I think that's it in a nutshell. As I've said over and over, and my opinion has not changed, I really believe that the November election will come down to the National economy and how personally secure people will in general feel about their jobs, their future and their childrens future. All of this other stuff is just noise.

Debt exceeds GDP, 'balanced' budget rhetoric is insanity. He didn't go for the Games, it's the Bankers he's courting. Mormon

I totally agree with this.

Please then, enlighten us, what is Governor Romney's stance on jobs and the economy? What would he do to help get Americans back to work and get the economy back on track? I haven't really heard a lot of specifics out of the Romney camp on his plan for the economy and jobs, other than ripping on President Obama for telling businesses "you didn't build [roads and bridges]".

By the way, the [roads and bridges] is what the infamous "that" refers to. If you have 30 seconds, I would encourage you to listen to the line immediately before and after the "you didn't build that" soundbyte.

@Sterling:

Sterling, really??? Do you really think I didn't hear the whole paragraph? The problem for Obama is that the more you hear the quote in context the more damaging it is.

Question for you... If two similar businesses exist on the same road, and one goes bankrupt and the other one thrives, how do you explain that if it is roads and bridges that makes a business successful? No matter how you slice that quote it's a sure loser for him, and they know it. If I was advising him, I would recommend a response be: "I mis-spoke - it didn't come out the way I meant it, and I'm sorry to anyone I've offended".

Him trying to make is sound somehow like he didn't say it or we're mis-hearing it is just giving him a shovel to dig deeper.
