Dang I've been thinking the same thing. I think something major will happen this year, either good or bad, probably bad, that will have a major impact on the outcome of the election.
I completely reject the notion that Obama will win reelection. If that was the case the implication would be that there are extremely low standards of accountability in regards to achievement for a U.S. President to win a second term. |

Want to make a bet? Even this far from the Election, and I'm not even a fan of Obama. He is going to win.
As for standards of accountability, I'm compelled to agree with you. We do have low standards, there is an ex-President sitting in Texas a free man, after lying to the American public, getting them into a war that will cost Trillions and Trillions of dollars, not to mention the priceless American lives that were lost in his web of lies, ya you are right.. we've lost any aspect of accountability, but it didn't start with Obama. |

Pock, I won't bet. If out of the spirit of fun and good naturedness I take a bet and lose, some will offer it up as a reason why my opinion should forever be discounted. Hard to believe I know...

Pock - 90% of that clip was a voice over from someone called "Liberalviewer" and about 15 seconds was actually Powell talking. C'mon you are smarter than that. You don't need to substitute a hacks opinion for your opinion.

I think Obama's victory in November will largely hinge on foreign events. a) European economic fallout impacting U.S. recovery b) War with Iran and/or an Iranian nuke c) Collapse of the 'alliance' with Pakistan d) Mexican drug war intensifying and spilling over into the U.S. e) Chinese recession impacting U.S. recovery f) A major terrorist event I don't think Romney will beat Obama without some outside events occurring.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/the-economy-its-still-bushs-fault/2012/01/17/gIQAE7Dy6P_blog.html
Fifty-four percent of respondents said that Bush was more to blame while 29 percent put the blame on Obama; 9 percent said both men deserved blame while 6 percent said neither did. Among registered voters, the numbers are almost identical; 54 percent blame Bush, while 30 percent blame Obama.
Independents, widely considered the most critical voting bloc this fall, continue to blame Bush far more than Obama for the economic troubles. Fifty-seven percent of unaffiliated voters put the blame on the former Republican president, while 25 percent believe the blame rests more with Obama. Heck, even one in five Republicans say Bush is more responsible than Obama for the state of the economy!

The Republicans had a chance to put forth candidates and show solid Leadership. To date, they have failed to do that. All they've brought to the table are shady businessmen and war-mongers with reckless foreign policy ideas.
