How high would unemployment have to go before you would reconsider?

I already lost my job, and then started my own business, and then got four more job offers.
The president has limited powers and can do very little without congress. I blame congress for the inability of the government to do anything about the unemployment rate. It wouldn't surprise me if unemployment went up. The way this congress refuses to pass any long term solutions to anything... everything is short term - stop gap measures - so businesses can't plan ahead. The entire government and country is effed up because congress refuses to function. * This message has been revised. |

My losing my job had nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with a company that had zero sales strategy.

I lost my job, started my own businesses, and expect to be doing very well by year's end.
BTW< losing my job also had nothing to do with Obama... * This message has been revised. |

I retired to give someone a chance for a job. With the economic turmoil in the world, things are tough all over. The US is in a better situation than many (most) countries in the world. President can propose legislation, but it up to our "do-nothing" Congress to act to bring about change. I lay blame at the feet of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans.

I don't support the election or re-election of either candidates. They both equally blow.

When the financial crisis hit just before Obama's election win (Sept.), things were rocky for a while at my company.
Now, things are looking brighter than they were at the BEGINNING of 2007. I blame our pre-9/2007 difficulties on performance AT my company. The rocky road? lots of factors. Obama may or may not have been one of them. The Obamacare court decision didn't have a net effect on our healthcare/biotech stocks, says the HC analyst at my company (who, btw, has won 5 Lipper awards... he's no slouch.) Why the brighter future? our performance record has been strong (thanks in part to the Lipper Awards!) as well as the small and smid cap sector being attractive to investors again. |

I also blame Congress' inability to work together to pass legislature that will get us on the road to recovery. We don't have a monarchy where the President has unlimited powers to pass anything they want. The sooner Americans can understand that NO one President will fix anything alone, the better we can get our problems solved. And our global economy means it is not just Congress that is hindering our country but the governments of other countries. This problem we are in is SOOOO much larger than a single United States President. Let's zoom out the telescope a little and try to see a bigger picture than one single man. Romney won't have the power to get anything done alone either, he will need Congress to work with him as well as other global powers.

I blame the 112th Congress....even less productive than Truman's "Do-Nothing" 80th Congress.

As the old joke goes... if "pro" is the opposite of "con", what's the opposite of "progress"?
