Post your VP predictions here!

I'm stumped. Both candidates are pretty mum on the subject.

What are your guesses?

McCain will pick Huckabee.

Obama will pick Bill Clinton, just to piss Hillary off.

I read the other day that McCain was thinking of choosing a man who is pro-choice. Why would he choose someone who's beliefs are different from his own. Shouldn't the Vice President be on the same page as the President on such an important issue? Just curious of others thoughts on this.

I would be shocked if McCain picked Huckabee.

Obama *might* pick a woman to try to recap some of the Hillary vote.

I am thinking Obama may have to wait until the convention cause there is still mischief afoot in the Clinton camp. They forced the Obama camp to have Clinto put on the ballot for nomination rather than simply withdrawing. There will be a roll call vote. Still plenty of opportunity for those Supers to reverse course. There is worry that Obama should be farther ahead of McCain in the polls than he is, raising doubts (no doubt fueled by Clinton supporters) as to his ability to win it.

Leslie - to be fair, and in hindsight, please pick one VP for each candidate.. which one do you think is more likely?

I think Bayh would be an outstanding choice for Obama, so I hope he picks someone else. hee hee.

Not sure who I think would be best for McCain. Don't like the Romney pick either, although I like Romney... they just don't feel like a good fit. I do like Joe Lieberman a lot - and he would probably be my top pick.

ch ya, I would guess that it is a ploy to get pro lifers to vote for him by saying we'll have one of our own in there to fight for our rights.

McCain= Jesse the body

Obama= Schwarzenegger

Oooh Yeah, let's get ready to RUMBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

 So does this mean he is going completely against his own agenda on this issue just to get votes?

Ch yah, of course we can only speculate as to his reasons. First of all, he hasn't done it yet.

Secondly, perhaps he feels that since he is running for the President of the United States, he will be a representative of all US citizens. Therefore, perhaps, he feels the selection of a pro-choice VP would be representing the interests of pro-choice Americans.

I don't see anything wrong with that. It is not changing his personal beliefs, he would simply be recognizing the beliefs and desires of individuals other than himself, and interests of those he would be chosen to represent.

It is the same as ones Christianity. A Christian must respect the religious beliefs of others. Doesn't mean that person is any less of a Christian.

That is just my take. Obviously no one can get inside the head of John McCain or anyone else for that matter. I think as a rule we should question or debate wether a policy is right wrong or can be improved upon, but not necessarily question the intentions of the candidate or sit in judgement as to what may be in his or her heart.

As Americans, we all need improvement in that department. I am working on it
