The year 2007 was pro-rated at 33% to coincide with the fiscal year.

How can I get the IRS to believe that?

Dammit, this is SO unfair. I was only a couple of months away from convincing JoePye, HipKat, Mahkno-sense, and that other doofus who's name escapes me to convert to the TEA PARTY.

SO UNFAIR!!!

Ha ha! Not quite!

I could easily be a Republican if it weren't for all of the social issues.

I don't understand why they tie the social issues up with the fiscal issues. How are they even related? I don't even like the ideas of political parties. Why doesn't everyone just vote for the individual who best reflects their ideology and values system? I would like to see both political parties dissolved and force everyone to think for themselves.

Party matters. Parties control the political process. Electing people in one party gives power to everyone in that party because that party's leadership gets into office. Once in office members of a political party are expected to vote as a block, and they do, now more so than in previous decades.

We either need NO parties, or more parties.

I agree. Though I understand that lots of the "social issues" that we spend money on like health care for seniors and medicaid for children and the disabled are very expensive items. Often times there is a connection between the social and the fiscal.

Billy, I 100% disagree with this statement. At least from where I sit, I see individuals in both parties, even party leadership, crossing lines like they have never done before. IMO, several factors contribute to this. 1. The moral and fiscal decay of American civilization and 2. The emergence of the new media, that does not make electability a function of being the party "favorite". Look at the 2010 national primary elections as an example.

The smoky back room dealing among party elites will soon become a thing of the past. Individuals will have to run on their own names, their own messaging, and their own accomplishments to be elected. Media moguls and career politicians are no longer the king-makers they used to be, thanks to pioneering individuals like yourself and others. Look at the track record of recent PJStar endorsements as an example.

I can also think of several local examples of successful politicians who bucked the pecking order and emerged victorious. Congressman Schock being one of them, and a few that come to mind in Tazewell County.

I have a theory on dissolving the democratic party, but our military is currently tied up with airstrikes on Libya.
