Oh boy another shooting on the Peoria.com Forums

I guess another good kid from the hood got bored tonight. It happened a block away from me. can't wait tell Emerge starts talking about the great loss. But nobody cares about normal people losing sleep over gunshots and sirens going off in the middle of the night outside there house. I have reached the point of ticked off. I don't care if i have to kill myself or my men i am going to make my business thrive to the point that i can buy this side of town and run these pieces of garbage off to the south side where they belong. I am sick of these rude people who don't work staying up all night and sleeping all day causing problems day after day night after night. Good god who raised these people Wolves on crack?

Don't worry about buying the block, just make your money and get the **** out of the hood. I know it's not a popular opinion, call it white flight, whatever.
Fact is, you most likely aren't going to reverse the trend on your own, much less muster enough support to make a difference, and if it bothers you that much, it's better to just get get on with your life elsewhere.
Sounds terrible now that I've typed it out, but it's true.

Ya its true I am planning on moving but i am still going to run these people out of here. Doesn't sound like a lovely old irish catholic neighborhood to me. Laramie used to be a nice street too, among many other streets that are basically lost causes now.

Besides, where are you going to run them to? There's probably a guy just like you in THAT neighborhood wondering the same thing.

I will start putting up signs about all the Obama money in Kansas and watch the massive migration to Kansas ya i know it isn't truthful and that is not the way i am but they would believe it and leave.

It can be done..... Once we're thriving, and changing the face of that neighborhood, and spreading out from there, it'll take some time, but it can be done.

Citizens arrest??? Stop and frisk, gate some streets at midnight, advertised spike stops in pavement. Retaining walls in alley thru fares, LED solar lit.

I'm sure if the city council would have spent 120 million on reducing crime instead of hotels, museums and library renovations, it would be like living in Mayberry right now.

Dont get me wrong I moved from PTown about 3 years ago where I was born, raised, and lived for 36 years of my life. Boy do I miss the convenience ALOT. But not enough to have to put up with what you all put up with daily.

The city council is not the solution to every problem. The city council runs the government, they do not control individual behavior.

They could control a lot of behavior with 120 million dollars in the police department budget.
