Marvin Hamlisch, dead at 68. What a loss to the music world.

I am sorry to hear about Marvin Hamlischs passing. He was indeed a creative genius. Sadly there are not that many really creative and versatile talents in the music world anymore. As a result his passing will make the void that much greater.

Despite his tremendous hits some of his most fabulous music never really got that much attention.Whe my wife and I were living in London in the 80s he wrote a musical based on the life of the actress Jean Seaberg. The show wasnt that good at all and faded from the scene really fast. However, the range of styles of music in that show just boggled the mind. That might still have been the best music he ever wrote.
