As long as you're in range of the faster service, yep.

Blech. Now AT&T says they can only give me up to 1.5 mbps. No way. Back to the drawing board. Its either Comcast or MTCO. Comcast annoyed me to death yesterday. Called and got hung up on twice. When asked if there were any promotions or specials for current customers she told me I was already getting a deal because my Internet was discounted because I had cable.

Comcast it is. MTCO uses the AT&T line, so they won't be able to get you anything faster.

3 mb is way slow. I could barely stream anything when I had 3 MB with AT&T

Comcast just called me to offer upgrading to 15Mb/s internet and a ton of add'l channels for $10/month for a year. I haven't tested it on a direct connection yet, but I'm getting 25Mb/s on speedtest.net on a wireless G router.

They are the most expensive, but I haven't had any trouble at all with them for a long time. Their customer service especially has gotten significantly better, at least in my experience, which thankfully, isn't very often.

I have zero complaints about Comcast. I don't care how much it costs honestly, because the Internet is a big part of my work/life.

On the other hand, if you're UPLOADING a ton of stuff a month, like a P2P file sharing software, they will notice that.

I typically upload hundreds of megs of photos to my photo website each month. They haven't said anything to me about it. If you include videos, I probably push a gig of data uploaded each month.

I imagine you're using regular http or ftp to upload files. That's not going to throw a flag. The p2p software uses various other ports.
