we can coexist in peace without them bringing it to my front door. imagine the outcry if i went door to door this weekend asking "have you fallen victim to the lies of Jesus, brother?"

wait.. you just gave me an idea.

Maybe they are more aggressive where you live. In New England, religion isn't worn on our shirtsleeves as much as other parts of the nation. When a JW comes to my door, it's courteous and VERY short. doesn't bother me in the slightest.

so, I will concede that our experiences are probably different in that regard.

If this is true, that is over 106 million man-hours wasted. Can you imagine if that time was devoted to any number of worthy causes? Astounding.

New England isn't in the bible belt (central / south-east) of America. Yeah, huge difference.

Shifty How can you say its wasted. Jesus stated this (Matthew 24:13, 14) . . .. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
This prophecy is one before the end. Now to me waste is setting in front of T.V. and its wasted space.

I've lived here for almost 5 years and have had the JWs visit my door only once. I told them I already had a church home and was pretty happy and they left.

Their favorite tactic here is to bring a young child along especially if its raining and ask if they can come in out of the rain.

My response: "The car you got out of is right up the road"

It's wasted because it added 0 value to the good of the planet/mankind. Sitting in front of the TV is also a waste, no doubt.
There are many, many things that time could have been spent on improving the planet, other people, etc. that would have added value to the world.

Shifty why should we fix something that cant be fixed by man. Sure we can try but some one else would just come mess it up. Also<<<<<<(John 15:18, 19) . . .. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU. . .
(1 John 5:19) 19 We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one.
(1 John 2:15-17) 15 Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him; 16 because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. 17 Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.
