From Emerge Peoria's blog:

It was supposed to be an oasis in the urban desert:
Emerge Peoria: "... instead the new Glen Oak Community Learning Center looks like a desert. The grass is dead, newly planted trees are dead and the property was devoid of any activity on a beautiful summer day. A "four-city-block area" with dead grass all around.It could be that the District doesn't have the funds ..."

@HipKat:

Under current conditions watering a lawn is not economically or environmentally a reasonable decision. /quote

I agree, so it's senseless to complain about dead grass

@HipKat:

I don't actually agree with 120202's statement, but I do agree dead grass at a school is nothing to complain about and her argument is lost by focusing on that point.

Now dead grass on a golf course would be something to complain about, but the PPD has been doing a great job!

I could care less about "dead" grass...one would almost expect it. What one doesn't expect is that in a year's time, the paint/powder coating on the front entrance needs to be re-done as it has been peeling for months. What kind of shoddy workmanship is this? I hope the contractor who originally did the work is doing the repairs for free.

@Chef Kevin:

Like the contractor replaced the rusted stairs on the riverfront? Oh wait...
