What if it could?? That's like asking what if pigs could fly? What if cartoons could come to life. My kids ask me questions like that.

Okay.. And are you just as stubborn when it comes to answering your kids? Do you tell them not to ask such ridiculous questions?

I think the answer I gave you was hardly ridiculous. I didn't put anything about Jesus Saves, The Bible is the ultimate truth, verbatim, Adam and Eve WERE the first humans, 7 days, means 7 calendar days, using our modern day calendar, etc., whether that's what I personally believe or not.

I'd say it was actually pretty intelligent.

Unfortunately, I see a lot of people who are trying to convince others that they are wrong-headed. At least that is how I perceive these posts.

I was using it as an example of why some questions cannot be answered "yes" or "no" even though they are framed that way. Worm wanted his god question answered either yes or no, but it isn't that simple.

In my example, if the question is "are you still beating your wife?" and you answer yes, that implies that you have, and continue to, beat your wife. If you answer no, it implies that you did at one time beat your wife, but have stopped.

By wording the question in such a manner, and demanding a yes or no answer, he has set up a condition that excluded the possibility that you NEVER HAVE beaten your wife. It's a loaded question, not a valid argument.

It was merely an example.

I'm glad people can talk about their beliefs (or rather "non beliefs") with such openness and not be concerned about being treated like the scourge of the Earth.

We only treat a few people that way...but in fairness, they ARE the scourge of the Earth.

The beauty of it all Hip is once they do make the decision to turn around, Christ will be standing right there. He never abandons us, ANY of us. He is standing on the porch, waiting for you to open the door and invite him in.

So one can go their whole life and not be too concerned about whether there is a God or not, or behave in a Christian manner, as long as they find God and ask for forgiveness before their demise.
