Tape and Adm are giving you the most sound advice.

Peoria employers don't like to hear that you are from somewhere else, they're afraid you'll up and leave at the drop of a hat, try to hide that, it'll help.

Have you thought about maybe looking into apartment management, that would take care of the rent and utilities.

Jobs posted on PJStar.com[/url]

One is in advertising... right up your alley.

Another is in Graphic design... another thing I've heard is right up your alley.

Good luck.

I applied for that design job,
Hey Tape, did you see where I said both Bridget and I have been applying for jobs left and right? And Where the hell do you get associating ME to a struggling artist type?
No body is hiring, and no, I'm not going to go make less money than it costs to run my house. It's counter-productive. This is NOT a con, this is someone that's freaking the HELL out! You think I'm not freaking embarased to even be posting this stuff?

As far as fighting those tickets, no, Tonawanda, NY is a speed trap town. There's no fighting them. I told the prosecutor I wanted a trial and he refused! When they revoked my license, my lawyer tried to get them to overturn one ticket, so I could get it back, they refused to respond to his letter and messages.
This entire year has been one friggin' disaster after another. BTW, Tape, did I say anything about needing presents for my kids or anything like that? Hell no. I don't even want food. But A LOT of people come on this board, and SOMEBODY knows SOMEBODY that can give me a simple goddamn JOB that I can earn a F*&^%$G living at, so crap like this doesn't happen.

By the way, Tape, don't say you like me. You don't even know me!

That makes no sense. You are entitled to a defense, and it is not the decision of the prosecutor. It's called "due process". Your recollection must be fuzzy.

and no, I'm not going to go make less money than it costs to run my house. It's counter-productive.

That's just weird. What then would you consider your other options?

Po dunk towns can be that way J, they just need to get slapped around in the appeals process. I've done it and won before. They really hate it when a paralegal kicks their tiny little butts on their own. But it does happen and should have happened in this instance based on the information given.

Mostly, they gamble on the problem just "going away" as is common with most defendants... Kat included. People/attorneys don't like to fight "little" issues that don't pay. Due process don't work unless you've got money J. It's what ruined my future as an attorney. I've got six years of college, I was very close before I became disillusioned. Completely in love with the legal system it broke my heart to realize the scales of justice can and are often empty. WHOA!!! My issue, Christi just got misty.. lol.. that's over.

No animosity here Kat.. I wish your family well.

Love,

C

They may be able to help with food and some baby supplies:

dreamcenterpeoria.com 309-676-3000 They are very nice people and will help you if they can.

Also our Morton Kroger is hiring for all shifts and most positions. I assume most other Kroger stores also are.

I work 3 part time jobs. My hubby works 1 full time plus free lance computer job. We work different shifts so we can be home with the boys. And we homeschool.

It can be done. We have had WIC and Kid Care in the past. We still buy the Angel Food units just because it is such a great deal.

You can do it but sometimes you have to go outside your way of thinking and reach out to others ( Churches) that you may not have ever reached out to before. The Dream Center does not judge or get you to go to church.

I know a girl that's staying there. She's on it for me, and J, I swear to God, when I told the prosecuter I wanted a trial, he said, "Just go to school and pay the parking ticket"! Bridget was right there. I told him I couldn't because I had been in the last 18 months, and he just said, then pay the fine and take the points and no matter how much I argued with him, he would not relent.

Some of you have this idea that I just sit around and hope things will get better, I've been doing the things I need to do. Knocking, no, pounding on doors, but no luck. As far as what does it meant to not take a job that doesn't cover my weekly budget? I think that's pretty self explanatory.

And keep in mind, I don't have a car, the buses don't run all routes late, or on Sunday, and getting to places to work part time isn't always an option. I had a second job once, and the hours about killed me, btw.

Back to the ticket thing, it reminds me of when some friends and I were driving back to San Diego from Ensanada, Mexico at 2AM and as we got close to Tijuana, we got pulled over for running a top sign, that wasn't there. They wanted 25 bucks each, or we were going to jail.

The final straw on this was last week. I sold a back cover ad to a Realtor in Dover, DE, the week before, and from $650.00, I dropped to $500 for her to finally say yes. She wanted her invoice emailed to her AND she prepaid, so that sale was $125.00 towards me on my check right away.
We sent the invoice, but she didn't get it, so she canceled! I was on the phone with her for 30 minutes, practically begging her to not cancel, and when I told her I'd take more money off, she adamantly refused, telling me the money was not the problem for her. Well it was for me. That was $125.00 that came of my check last week, and with a 3 day week, I only brought home $130.00. Less than what we pay at Kroger's each week, much less be able to pay anything else.
And before you judge, keep in mind, my average check here for the last two months has been about $175.00. I had one week with no check, and two where it was only $50.00.
At the same time, I have $8000.00 out in unpaid invoices, that are not getting paid, because people are hurting, and know they can brush off that bill before they can rent/mortgage/utilities, etc.

When you said you would not take a job that paid less than it cost to run your house, I was under the impression you did not have a job at all. It sounds like you have one that pays less than minimum wage with the false promise of earning more?

Of course the stores here are hiring seasonal help. Hell even the park district is always hiring part time people, they pay lifeguards 8 to 10 bucks an hour to stand around at the riverplex.

The census bureau is hiring and paying pretty well 1-866-861-2010, temp 1-2 years.

Why not sign up with a temp service? We hire through temp services, and some of them turn into full time employees. It's easier to sample and test employees through a temp service.

If you feel that's under you, then all I can say is good luck.
