My son called he as he had been checking online for a place to stay while they are here. He wanted to know why the rates are so high since over a year ago when they were here. He said the ones out by Grand Prairie are sky high. He wants to stay on Peoria side of the river. I wonder is it summer rates or the Pere closing, or the sign of the times. He did find the Baymont Inn & suites on Brandwine Dr that was the cheapest, anyone know anything about it ?

MsGem, I hate to tell you this, but I wouldn't stay there if all the other ones burned down.
2 Hotels to stay in here are Embassy, and Stoney Creek. That's it. |

Use Hotwire. It's pretty easy to figure out which hotel you're going to get if you use better bidding.com before placing a bid.

We have stayed at the Baymont Inn several sitme here in Peoria several times and I loved it. Rooms were clean, staff was very nice and helpful and I love the outdoor pool.
Admittely I have not been there is about a year - has it changed hands or something? |

He should stay at the Four Points Sheraton as they have the PDC restaurant of the day, week, month, year, decade and possibly century.

We book Springhill Suites several times a year and a room runs around $100/night.

There's a great Hotel right behind Fresh Market. I couldn't tell you the name, since there's no sign, but I hear they have very affordable rates and wake up calls.... every hour, someone knocks on the door asking about needing a date or something like that?

I have not stayed over night in Peoria in a long time. Nor do I have plans to do so anytime soon. Been there and done that.
I do know people who have and the rates in the area seem to have gone up with the closing of the Pere. Makes pefect sense as things were booked ino the Civic Centerand the people need a place to stay. My friends have said Embassy Suites, Stoney Creek Inn, and the Sheraton are far and away the best in Peoria. Embassy Suites has a breakfast buffet every day and another extensive snack bar in the evenings. They have said that once in awhile there are really good rates at the Sheraton. |
