You say/////The bible is full of imagery, parables and great stories - you cannot take every word literally.
The words of God are the words in the Bible. So what you are saying is that Gods word is B.S. truefully I dont think you know what you are talking about.

Yes I have met a few very Spiritual men. As for wemon they have a place to but men are to take the lead in all matters.

i worked for a reired rev. and his wife. very spiritual. they prayed about and for everything. when i started to work for them i was a nervous scared wreck. i felt like i was working for Jesus himself. then i descovered that the retired rev. and his wife are 100% human. i know things about them. i look at them way differently now.

as for the women part, what is the divorce rate like for jw's?

If a belief system gives comfort and strength in difficult times or leads one to treat others with care & compassion, I frankly don't care what name is given to it. How a person goes about their daily life is what matters to me, rather than what pew, if any, that person is sitting in. One person's truth does not have to be my truth for me to respect their truth and them. Religious, spiritual, agnostic or atheist - I don't care. What kind of person they are seven days a week does matter.

Spot on.

Everyone thinks something different will happen once we each shuffle off this mortal coil, but what we have in common is that we're all here together now. If we lead our lives trying to make the lives of those around us easier, for whatever reason, that's how the world becomes a better place for all of us.

Hear that Ladies? Apparently the JW's and TnT believe you have your place and need to stay in it.

Perhaps her "place" is on a pedastal, to be worshipped and adored. If she is believes her "place" is right for her, why should I care? Having met TnT and other JWs, I have not seen any evidence that that "place" is one of abuse.

What is the divorce rate like for Jehovah witness. Far and few because the have Gods approval. Plus they live by the Bible which is Gods laws. There are people that have no beleiving spouse but there are some that come to meetings and there are some that dont. They never stop there spouse from worshiping God. If you read the Bible there is only one way for divorce. Man has watered this down to what they want Jehovahs people try to stay together. If you have God Jehovah in your married life its a three cord fold.

I am still waiting to hear, exactly what a woman's "place" is for you and your religion. You made the comment, an explanation would be fitting.

I care, because I am constantly trying learn and understand other religions and beliefs. I think only through understanding can you not repeat the past.

I do not believe women have a "place" other then where they want to be by their own free will.

If only 144,000 witnesses can go to heaven, why do you go door to door trying to convert people? Aren't you reducing you own chances?

Seal, thanks for the response. I agree, a woman's place is the place she chooses to be!

Those 144000 spots are already filled, according to the WatchTower anyway.

I was raised to respect women. I may be considered to be a jerk by a lot of people here, but none of them can say I have been rude, inconsiderate, or mean to a woman.

reminds me of this time i was hanging out at perkins, and at the next table were two very obnoxious guys and a cute looking girl. the guys were just full of bad language and being obnoxious and treating her like crap. one of the guys at my table (friend of a friend) decides to be the hero and stands up, politely invites the girl to join us.. and she just snapped, calling him all kinds of names w/ her guy friends joining in. almost started a fight, but didn't. they eventually left, but were even more obnoxious until they did.

i know that's not really on topic or anything. just goes to show that some women want to be treated like crap i guess. i don't care what your gender is, if you're a hateful person you'll get no respect from me.
