If someone said to me "you are smart" I would smile and say thank-you. If someone said "Abby is smart" I would shine like a new penny. I love being a mom and being able to be proud of her. Emoticon

I haven't said much about your recent posting frenzy but enough is enough. You don't have to make EVERY thread about you and how mistreated you are here. STOP!

It's also nice when your kids are adults and people tell you how good they turned out.

Another proud mommy moment...Abby's birthday party with her classmates is tomorrow and we are all going bowling. Abby decided, on her own, that she didn't want presents from her friends and would rather have donations to St. Jude. I called St. Jude and they sent little cards with information on how to donate and an 'account' number where they can donate in Abby's name. My goodness I love that little girl!

Why not? When you get crap, why not give crap back? You're castigated for opposing views by the bloggers who are embedded here since the blog began.....

Go on Tim!,...don't take any crap for your opinions.

And sometimes a friendly acquaintance (I am very selective about the word friend), simply steps aside after several attempts of trying to turn things around. Unfortunately, I have stepped aside in this and a couple of other situations.

@jooerl There is a difference between expressing an opinion and attempting to derail a forum thread.

You're so right, Leslie - I beam when my kids and/or grandkids get compliments. I LOVE taking my grandkids out and getting compliments on their behavior (which actually isn't that extraordinary - they are simply polite and know how to behave in public) Now, that said, the next time I take them out they will be raging hellions. . . . . Looking forward to attending my grandson's violin recitals. They are ages 5 & 3, so this should be fun.

@Ramble On:

oh you poor thing! I hope it doesn't offend people here, but it was hard to listen to my son's concerts when he was little. They were not virtuosos! (got a choice - sing or play an instrument! Aaron chose instrument!)

Been listening so long it doesn't bother me. Their mom (my daughter) is a Suzuki teacher and started violin at age 5.
