Cheating is a fascinating topic since it seems to tell so much about who that person is beneath the "mask" they wear... the protective fascade that we all have at times. And it raises many other questions that some of us wrestle with.... even the cheaters themselves. Such as "if a person is willing to cheat WITH you, could you ever trust them not to cheat ON you?"
Btw... that's the question my ex asked many times before the truth of his own (latest) infidelity came to light. That question tipped me off that something was going on. Ten years past our split, he finally married his former secretary with whom he'd been romping around with. I guess it took him 10 years to weigh out the answer to his own question. Interestingly, even though he was only in his 30's, he'd been going thru that "I'm getting old. Time is running out" thing just before we split. According to info I received at the time of his remarriage, that same theme seemed to be going thru his mind yet again and caused him to decide he'd better get married again so there'd be someone to take care of him since his health began to suffer from genetics kicking in as well as the stress of his job. Personally, I find the human mind to be extremely interesting and totally unexplainable all too often. Trying to understand why others think or behave the way they do can be quite an exercise in patience at times, but it's ALWAYS interesting. Sooooo... speaking for myself only, that's a snapshot view of the reason that I find the topic fascinating, for those enquiring minds that question the appeal of a thread like this. :-) In all honesty though, if anyone began naming names on this thread, I'd be the first one shouting to have it locked, burned and buried on another continent. There's simply nothing to be gained from that kind of discourse. |

My 40 year old neighbor left his wife and kids for a 20 year old with whom he had two more children. He just divorced again because he said she was getting fat. That man needs to be shot. Any volunteers?

why is called cheating, I ask on purpose.
I have not cheated, but am very tempted to mostly it is just the physical need for sex. At times I wonder how can she not need sex it has been three days! Isn't married life supposed to be hot and sexy? and then she will say go ahead take it if you need it , then its like ruined cause she is just not into it, and then if I look at another woman I;m the bad guy? what if we withheld food from our mates and then condemned them for wanting to eat and looking longingly at others plates full of food! |

You can look, just don't touch and you'll be o.k. and so will your relationship. If you just got married, why would you want to put what you could build together and the future you could have by cheating just because its only been 3 days since you had sex? Think about it!!

3 days????
You are not seriously whining about 3 days are you? man, you must be real young. Once week is more than enough for me these days.... Once every two weeks is even doable. |

I guess some people think because your married or in a relationship you need to be 'doin' it' all day, everyday/night.

It will probably surprise alot of ppl to hear me say this... although I'm pretty sure I've shared this thought here before... but I have given alot of thought to why men in particular seem to have been created with a roving eye.
As most know, I have very deep Christian beliefs and I'll tell ya' the truth, I've never found anything in the Bible that explains WHY in the Old Testament men were allowed to have multiple wives and concubines, but for some inexplicable reason in the New Testament we don't see that. My thinking is this, although it goes against the norms of our society today... If God had a bad attitude about men having more than 1 wife, and concubines to boot, why didn't he tell them to knock it off in the Old Testament? But he didn't do that according to the way the scriptures appear today. So where and when did the attitude of 1 man/1 wife start? I can't answer that, although based on some rather random but somewhat extensive digging into the matter, it seems that it may have started when the catholic church did a bit of revamping of the scriptures way back when for their own purposes. (my apologies to any Catholics amongst us, but it IS the truth so please don't take offense.) I could be very, very wrong about that being the changing point, but that's pretty much the conclusion I came to at the time. How would that 1 man/many wives concept go over in our society now? Well, it's pretty easy to figure that one out based on this thread alone, as well as the persecution faced by traditional Mormons. Like everyone else nowadays, I'm a product of the way I was raised and the concepts in play at the time. Although there may be benefits even to women to have more than 1 "wife" in the house, it would be a tricky landmine field to maneuver since this society has not embraced or cultivated that mindset. With that, I'll say ta ta while ya'll recover from the shock of "hearing" me say this. lol |

As we have said in this thread a few, many times "If they cheated with you, they will cheat on you" and "Once a cheater, always a cheater"
