For the atheists that really find out they were wrong upon death, it's too late. whoops

a god that doesn't give second chances, or third chances, or fourth chances, is not an all-loving god, and is not a god i'd want to spend eternity with. being wrong doesn't frighten me.

Actually, my buddy believes that Jesus death abolished all sin and that God's love for each of us is everlasting and in that, Thanks to Jesus, we're all saved....

Actually, the beauty of God is that He DOES give second, third and fourth chances. It's all over the Bible with Moses and Kings Saul and David and a few others. They all made mistakes and God forgave them when they repented. Some people were even allowed to live longer than they should have because they asked for more time.

Yep. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to men by which we must be saved." --Acts 4:12

But that doesn't mean God doesn't love you. He loves you and keeps knocking on the door to your heart through us or others around you but, yes, there will come a time when your chances will be exhausted so don't wait too long.

you clearly don't get it, froggy. if an all-loving, all-knowing, all-powerful God existed, then it wouldn't make a difference whether i'm an atheist or not. there wouldn't be a "whoops, too late" moment. the biggest flaw in your logic is thinking there is a specific thing you must do to secure your salvation. we're talking about the "unknown" so i say again, knowing is not believing.

you simply don't know, nor can you claim to. nobody can.

the bible invalidates itself as proof. if the book has taught me anything it's to look for answers in my heart and not in the text, and my heart tells me exactly that: the book cannot be trusted.

Youre right, I dont get your way of thinking or why you continue to have blinding faith in science and the ever expanding universe, which is riddled with guesses and plenty of unanswered questions that will most likely never be answered nor can you claim to know the answers to either. Not even when you die.

So basically, we have the same beliefs...except that the universe has yet to wrap its "loving arms" around me, forgive my sins and help me create a completely new life.

I don't believe an all-loving God would deny anyone, even those that might come to Him as a non-believer. I don't believe an all-loving God would say "I love you, but since you didn't believe in me, you will rot in hell forever" (or just be nothingness...)

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under Heaven given to men by which we must be saved." --Acts 4:12

Those are not my words and they are not just one passage In the Bible that declares this.

(1 Timothy 4:15, 16) . . .. 16 Pay constant attention to yourself and to your teaching. Stay by these things, for by doing this you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

seems you and froggy have different beliefs on the matter, hip. I wonder which one is right and which one will be spanked by God.

Well, if you could read, I said that was what A F-R-I-E-N-D of mine believes

HipKat writes:

But try again....
