I actually will miss it! I enjoyed shopping at the store and also Ruehl when that was open. I love the smell of Abercrombie's "Fierce" cologne, so it doesn't bother me at all. I also have a wide taste of music and the music they played at the store didn't bother me either.
You can find good sales there! I would always get the question, "Why would you pay $90 for a pair of jeans?" Why?? Because they last 5 times longer than any other jeans I have ever had. I had a pair of jeans from A&F that I wore a few times a week for 6 years before they got any holes in them. I then sold them to Plato's Closet for a fourth of what I bought them for. I recently just bought a pair of jeans there that will probably last just as long and they were on sale for $40. The company is not in any financial trouble and has no debt. They make smart business decisions and the decision to close these stores was announced back in 2010. They were just waiting for the least to expire on many of their stores. They will do fine with the remaining Abercrombie & Fitch stores, as well as abercrombie, Hollister and Gilly Hicks. Although, the store did make some risque decisions, it comes with the times. I work retail and have kids come in all the time and buy rated M video games with their parent's approval. A lot of these kids are no older than 10 and the games contain strong language, graphic violence, sexual situations and sometimes nudity. I will be 30 this year, and when I was growing up we never had any of this. There are now kids that have 3-year-olds by age 14. Anyways...will I miss it? Yes. However, I can still order online. I do already shop at similar stores in the area for clothing. |

I won't miss walking by that place and getting choked by the overpowering stinch of cologn / perfume and losing my hearing because of the music blasting in that store...

We just recently started going in there, mostly due to stuff on display in the window. We would walk through the whole store looking for it and then ask an employee and they would look and then say, "I don't think we have any other than the display, but you can order one online."
So why have a store then? |

When I worked at Kohls there was many a time we removed clothing from a mannequin in the name of good customer service.

Their displays have tags on them that say not for sale, as apparently they have altered them to look perfect on the mannequins.

About 8 years ago, I managed the Lids kiosk outside of Abercrombie. The music got real old, real quick. The store did, however, provide for some nice scenery to stare at.

A couple people on this thread mentioned the music, so I have to ask what type of music did they play?

The last day for Abercrombie was on Sunday, January 29th. The Buckle will be moving upstairs and taking it's spot.
