I don't see how you are comparing a joke by Wanda Sykes about Rush Limbaugh (who deals the same level of discourse out on a regular basis) to a blanket statement made about US troops killing elected officials.

Both tasteless, yes. However, to turn this into a "liberal media" complaint is stretching it..

Apparently I wasn't the only one who noticed. An online poll after the article showed 68% agreeing with me. Not surprised shifty missed the point though, that's par for her course.

www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2009/05/11/2009-05-11_a_red_herring_called_wanda.html

So what you are saying is that the NY Daily news is the only non-liberal media?

How is a windbag comedian spouting off about another windbag comedian the same as saying that soldiers want to shoot and strangle elected officials?

Either way, you disproved your own point by showing that the dastardly liberal media did indeed report Wanda Sykes as being tasteless as well.

He like most Americans I've spoken with are scared Barack Obama is going to change America forever socializing medicine, banks and increasing governmental control over every aspect of our lives, reducing our freedoms.
And in that specific case if that is his agenda, I hope he fails also.

I have to quote myself.

What has he done besides spending money like a drunk sailor in port?

I'm say the fear is there, and that is his agenda. I'm not sure people will let him socialize medicine or allow him to lessen the 2nd ammendment or socialize bank and the auto industry, but we are getting closer every day.

I haven't seen anything in regards to the 2nd amendment, what has he proposed?

If you are worried about the constitution then I hope you were apalled by Bush's actions...I didn't realize that Rush Limbaugh was a comedian. If I knew that he was just spouting jokes on his radio program then I might have laughed at some of his jokes. But if he is a comedian then what does that say about the Republican Party they have been touting him as the voice of the Republican party...Wanda Sykes is a comedian that is her job, we know what she is saying is a joke, to take her telling jokes as a serious offense would be as though you believe Saturday Night live is serious ...do you?

First let me repeat that I am not offended by either of their comments and that I dislike both Rush and Wanda Sykes. However, if being a comedian is license to say whatever you want nobody would have been offended by Michael Richards racially motivated comments a few years ago. Therefore, I reject your logic...

What about Richard Pryor?
What about ANY comedian, for that matter?

You mention Michael Richards comments. A lot of comedians make racist comments, which are not a big deal. Or politically incorrect comments, etc....

So some dumb SNL comedian made a joke in bad taste. Like she's the first one? they all do.

I couldn't care less either way. I have said her comments don't matter to me. I only mean that anyone who is surprised that this would get a reaction hasn't been on a computer in the last 10 years. Sensationalism is the norm in our media.

The point being made is that she appears to be getting less backlash from the incident because she is a comedian, which is ridiculous (not to mention the fact that calling Wanda Sykes a comedian is a stretch to begin with).

I don't know who Wanda Sykes even is? If the person isn't famous, then its not surprising that their tasteless comments aren't publicized.

She played the role of 'Biggie Shorty The Hooker' in the epic film 'Pootie Tang'.

She is Ultra-Mega Famous.
