Let's all focus on something we can agree on...if George Zimmerman was black, nobody would know his name.

I certainly can't speak for everyone. But race isn't an issue for me.

I would say it has more to do with it happening in an upscale neighborhood rather than Zimmerman's race.

I'm sure the "Domestic violence" that occurred when he hit his fiance started with merely words too, an incident he blamed on her. This guy sure gets into an awfully lot of situations were he is attacked, and the other party is to blame.

One other incident qualifies as "an awfully lot" in your book?

they you've had little interaction with the dregs of our society. I envy you that.

Despite my inexperience with the dregs of society, I was taught, that any man that hits a women is a coward. So there is little doubt in my mind, that he'd act like a coward equally matched.

And yet, none of that will matter in his trial

Yet, that doesn't change the fact of the matter. He is a coward. He will stand in judgement one day.

I don't know enough about it, so I'll ask... Florida law allows domestic abusers to carry firearms? That doesn't seem right.

The man has three incidents involving violence and the law.

That is three more than most everyone that I know.

that's a damn good question, and under the Lautenberg Amendment the answer in all 50 states would be NO.

Perhaps he was not convicted of domestic battery. They may have plead it down to simple battery. Anyone know?

He was never convicted of domestic battery, but his ex had a restraining order against him and him against her.

His assault on a police officer was pled down from a felony to a lesser crime and then eventually negotiated out in exchange for classes.

In 2005, Zimmerman, then 20, was arrested and charged with “resisting officer with violence” and “battery of law enforcement officer,” both which are third-degree felonies. The charge was reduced to “resisting officer without violence” and then waived when he entered an alcohol education program. Contemporaneous accounts indicate he shoved an officer who was questioning a friend for alleged underage drinking at an Orange County bar.

In August 2005, Zimmerman’s ex-fiancee, Veronica Zuazo, filed a civil motion for a restraining order alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman counterfiled for a restraining order against Zuazo. The competing claims were resolved with both restraining orders being granted.
