I'm a single 30 something female doing the dating thing, more specifically, onine dating off & on since May...Along w/ regular dates & setups.

Oh what fun & funny!

- dated guy this summer for about 2 months who would barely touch me, let alone kiss (we did)...amongst other things. Apparently I was forcing it?! Yea, I ended that...

-online guy who asks to meet at heavy metal concert/event where we can't hear & neither are into. He has 2 phones, informs me is unemployed, doing shots...I stayed 2 hrs, faked allergies & left. He texted me 5 days later & asked me out for that night..

I have more but most recently is my brother's former coworker who played matchmaker for he & his wife. He's messaged me on dating sites & a month ago messaged my brother at wk saying he saw me on dating site & asking to set us up. My brother said I'm dating someone (true..but not serious & keeping options open) but guy asks why I'm on a dating site then, etc. Fast forward 1 week later he happens to be at event I'm at & introduces himself. We talk, w/in 5 min he asks me out, I said no. ...he was " You won't have a drink with me?!" Apparently the next night he went to another event where he spoke to every woman there, ignored the guys & left when he realized there was no one single or interested...

I've had 2 dates w/ another guy recently(who ironically asked me out at event above, 10 min before other guy). I've known him for about a yr involved in same things & similar interests, our dates have been kind of random & funny..but it's working...3rd date to come Emoticon

Anyone out there & have any good dating stories?

I don't envy you or that scene anymore. There is enough drama happening in my kid's 4th grade classrooms to keep me on my toes.

I will tell you after actively dating after the years I was focused on college, while I was working..it was somewhere between a nightmare roller coaster and a whole lot of fun. But it was when I wasn't looking, that I met my husband..at Sully's. :-)

Well, JnJ is married so I just quit looking Emoticon

I haven't dated in ages. As SAHM said, it's hard. Met a woman through mutual friend at a food/wine event. Had a great time. Asked her out, and she cancels last minute. Bump into her at a bar and we talk for an hour until her girlfriends showed up. Made plans. She cancels. Seems like we have a lot in common and get along, but try to make plans to actually do something, doesn't seem to happen. Giving up.

This has been floating around on Facebook, from Craigslist

You farted in Kroger yesterday - m4w - 49 (Bartonville)

You were the blonde with long hair who ripped one near the breakfast cereal. I was the tall guy who came around the corner and asked "Was that you?" You quickly replied "No, it wasn't me." while trying to hide your face. You then seemed insulted when I complimented you for it ("Well, that was a pretty good one."), and continued your denial ("I said it wasn't me!"). I didn't mean to make you angry when I said "Dang, girl..." and grabbed the box of Cocoa Puffs and started fanning the air to dissipate the smell. That was when you grabbed your cart and zipped away, leaving me in the wake. Anyways... Even though you're a liar with the flatulence of a Clydesdale, and I'd still like to hear from you.

Yes...my married friends also don't envy me but they def get a good laugh.

Yea...I've just recently been to the point of not tryin for awhile...on dating site but not actively trying.

Oh..then there's a mutual friend I dated for about a month, talk daily & go out a couple times a week ...lots in common but overnight he quit contactin me. Every once in awhile he will...It's okay bc on a Friday night I was home by 8 pm.....

Basically it's like bachelorette except none of guys know about each other. Hey...I have to keep my options open.

Luckily holidays keeps me busy/gives good reason to to slow dating life down. Come Jan 1 I think I'm going to focus more on me again & see what happens

I hated the dating thing and thank God everyday that I met my fiance. We met on match.com and it was about 3 days before my subscription ended and I vowed that would be the absolutely last time I tried online dating.

My least favorite thing about dating was wondering if you were actually dating or "hanging out". WTF is that?

I am never dating again, Everyone is nuts. I had a list of red flags that if I seen or heard I was gone. From the second date (I hope my parents like you), To the leaving notes on my car when I am in another state. The best one was oh yea im currently married but it might be over soon. Found that one out three months into it. She had her own apartment and no ring.

I've gotta agree with everything irun has posted but from the male side. Dating isn't really much fun anymore.

However, it still beats the hell out of the relationships I've been in!

(right now I'm wondering what the odds are that irun and I have met and don't know it!)
