I strongly considered home-schooling for awhile for this reason but was afraid it would put me in the looney bin.

@JnJ:

St. Thomas

@meanjarhead:

I assume you mean St. Thomas is still thriving. If so, Billy will be delighted to hear it. From what he has said, and I agree, it is a gem that is "hidden" in plain view.

There are a lot of very successful, accomplished people, in various fields,that got their start at St. Thomas. It is a school that others have tried to copy but not quite copied it.

Just found out this afternoon that Airen was accepted at St. Thomas. However I am feeling very guilty about leaving Glen Oak. After changing schools 23 times I vowed I would not make Airen change schools unless absolutly necessary. But when it comes right down to it her education is the most important thing. She just couldn't learn in the Glen Oak envirorment.

If the change is for the better, then I am sure your child will be glad that you did it. I've heard lots of great things about St. Thomas, I am sure it will be a good choice.

If I lived in Peoria, I would have a very hard time sending my kids to D150, too.

@tls1995:

Trust me, trust me there is no reason on earth to feel guilty about leaving any District 150 school for St. Thomas. It is wonderful that she has been accepted at St. Thomas. She learned something to get in there. She will learn even more at St. Thomas. Congratulations!

@Msgem:

She goes from being super excited to almost crying because she won't be with the kids she has always known. At that point I point out this means she also won't be with the ones who torment her either purposely or just by misbehaving. Hopefully she will be more comfortable after the Meet and Greet this coming Sunday.
