Have you ever experienced one ? They can be quite scary when you first have one. I have had them at least once a year and had one last night, usually affects one eye for me and last a half hour to a hour. The vision field for me during them is like half is missing or like looking through a cracked window. Iam sure glad I have never had one when driving.

My coworker had one. She could not see. I had to take her to the ER. I remember her looking at me but it was like she was looking through me. I was very scared for her.
She told me she thought she would never be able to see her boys again. It made me really sad. |

Have not had one for quite some time. Finally learned if I closed one eye, I could function pretty well. Dr. told me that there is no sense giving any medication as it would be over by the time the meds kicked in. They were scary until I found out what they were!

Never had any pain with mine. Just the inconvenience of walking around with one eye closed for 20 minutes to half an hour!

When I reported what I experienced, the nurse showed me a short video of symptoms and asked if that is what had happened. To a "T". It was good to be able to put a name to it and know it did not mean I was going blind or something!

I had one once. I was looking at my computer and I couldn't read it. Big hole in my vision. Went to the trader's office and told them I had a hole in my vision. Asked me to describe it. Geometric pattern moving. They knew what it was (ocular migraine). No pain. But scary! I had a appt with a glaucoma specialist that afternoon so told him. He confirmed the dx.

I get those blind spots / "flashies" followed usually by an intense headache. First time was 5 years ago while at work. It was scary.

My migraines usually start with the squiggly lines. I lose some vision in both eyes--like I cant see parts of stuff in front of me--and then the headaches sets in. I've had them without the pain but usually when my vision starts going nutty like that it's time for me to stop everything and take a Motrin.
A chiropractor I had in NM who did manual adjustments fixed me up really well. I think I've had one migraine in the last 6 years, thank God. |

My coworker swears by taking Advil and lying down in a dark room for about 45 min. She says it usually gets rid of em and avoids any headache that might happen.

I get them as well. Start to get blurry vision and I know what comes next. However my headaches have been pretty tame. However the day after I feel completely drained and useless for some reason. Next day all good and ready to roll. when the blurry vision starts I immediately down 3 ibuprofen and a whole can of coca cola. I think it helps to keep the headache down.
