I'd rather volunteer to be the donor of Kleenex, wipes, etc for one week than have 25 students all bring those things on day 1!

I miss those days when my sons were younger but yet don"t miss the "back to school" shopping.

I got my supply list today and it specifically says that the pencils are supposed to be yellow, pencils are supposed to be plain, and the folders are supposed to be plain. How boring!

I hate to tell you but that is not going to come any time soon. There are too many school districts around the country where there are not even close to enough textbooks for the students, let alone supplies.

A few years ago in a school ,where I used to teach, there were several instances of burned out light bulbs in classrooms that took weeks to get replaced. Finally one day we went to school and the blubs had been replaced. The reason given was a shortage of funds.

Dont be surprised if some day you hear the a school needs light bulbs and they have a bake sale to raise the funds to buy the light bulbs. Sadly, it has already happened in some school districts.
