The problem with this is, as it was stated earlier, this will give further enticement for parents to bring their kids over...creating more illegal immigration.

The punishment for juveniles is different in our criminal justice system. The matters are handled in family court and the records are sealed.

Do you seriously think that a 5 year-old who is in a getaway car from a bank robbery should be convivted of a crime?

I'm a little curious as to why some people have such a big issue with underage illegal immigrants. They aren't taking anyone's jobs, which seems to be the major issue behind why many are opposed to the illegal immigrants in the first place.

The argument that illegal immigrant kids are a drain on the taxpayers is largely bunk as well. For instance, even if they're in public schools, they're still paying their fair share -- public schools are funded through property taxes, which are being paid for by whoever's owning/renting whatever domicile they live in. (And yes, renters do pay property taxes. It's indirect, but a renter's rent includes the property owner's overhead, which includes taxes on the property.) Those property taxes also include police and fire protection as well. Illegals still pay local sales taxes too, as long as we assume they're buying things.

I didn't say the kid was in the get away car. The fact is, ignorance isn't an excuse. If someone is here illegally, they're breaking the law, regardless of how they came in. It's outrageous to me that a sitting President will just say "I'm not going to enforce this law." Whether or not you agree with the immigration laws, they exist in this country...and as Obama himself said, he has to follow them.

My problem with illegal immigration is the fact that these people are BREAKING THE LAW, and they should have to face the consequences of their actions.

So a kid who comes to America with their parent should stop them and ask about the legality of everything?

I see immigration as a black & white issue (no race pun intended) You're either here legally or you're not, regardless of what caused you to be here illegally.

And, like I said, my bigger issue with this is Obama's refusal to enforce the laws of this country. I support parts of the DREAM act, but it should be properly enacted by Congress. Congress has been trying for a decade to pass it, and haven't been able to. The President should not usurp Congress' authority and law making power.

So an infant who was brought here illegally, should immediately leave when they reach the age of culpability... even though they had no control of where they live and how they got there.

I didn't say that. But, they are still here illegally, and should be subject to deportation, unless Congress passes a low allowing for other results.

They are still subject to deportation. The only thing this executive order does is place the law abiding, educated ones lower on the priority list for deportation. Obama administration is deporting illegal immigrants at a higher rate than other recent administration - so claiming he is being soft on immigrants isn't supported by facts.

They are not not subject to deportation. As long as they meet the requirements, they are subject to "relief from removal from the country or from entering into removal proceedings."

Right...but whether it's temporary or not, he's still saying he's not going to enforce this country's laws.

Considering that he has deported more people than any other administration, means he is enforcing the law and he is doing better than his predessors.

The facts on the number of deportations contradicts the claim that he is not enforcing the law.

Actions speak louder than words.

And he acted by saying I'm not going to deport certain people who are in this country illegally. I've never said he hasn't enforced the entire law, but the law's effectiveness loses a lot when the President says he's not going to enforce it, but only for certain people.

I felt the same way back when Bush suspended deportations for Liberians.
