After working in bars for over a year, dealing with 4 bands and several DJs a week, I've developed a hatred for some songs. Whenever I hear the following lyrics, I cringe and want to stab my ears...

"Just a small town girl..."
"Tommy used to work on the docks..."
"I got my first real six string..."
"Josie's on a vacation..."
"Jesse was a friend..."

What songs do you guys hate?

and this line in that song is awful!! ...

Ugh...how many times have I heard Mustang Sally? About the same amount of times I've heard BAD versions of Mustang Sally. I had enough of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" the first time I heard it. Don't know what the lyrics are because I can't understand any of them.

not just lyrics, but my old band had a long list of overly used things that we outlawed in the practice room:

no chorus
no guitar solos
no snare drum or improvised snare drum
no use of the word "baby"

the list was about 2 pages long... punishment was severe... good times.

I tended bar back in the 80's. Heard "Girls Night Out" by the Judds 5 times a night. Hate the Judds.
