Because I believe the limited number of people I know represent a significantly larger portion of the people that live in Peoria than you're willing to acknowledge. Perhaps even bigger than the number of people represented by the ones you know

And again, Morton, E. Peoria, Bartonville, et al outside of Peoria itself, don't count. I mean, it's obvious that people in Washington have a completely different experience. I go to E Peoria and that is in itself a different experience...

AND, btw, I spent a lot of time talking to people at ManCamp who go to Northwoods, who live out by Northwoods, btw, very far removed form the city itself, who all seemed to agree with my perspective on the problems in this city, which tells me that you are either very much shielded from it or you are disagreeing just to disagree.....

And I don't mean 1 or 2. Northwoods sent about 50 people up there

One more thing. You mentioned your (former) office. Ever take a walk through the streets around that office? I don't mean up University at 12 PM for a Polar Pop. I mean take a walk done Brons to Broadway. cut up to Gift and come back, on a summer day at about 8 PM.... This is the better part of the city of Peoria, other than out towards the mall. From here, through downtown out to the Southside, it's all the same. Blocks and blocks and blocks and more blocks of all the same thing.

I absolutely agree that there are problems in Peoria...but when you surround yourself, with apparently, only the people you describe of course you are going to think that is the majority.

Ha, come to think of it, even the mall isn't so great, once you move south and west of Sterling, back towards The Lex and further back into Kings Park....
Head up Knoxville, there's an apt building up there that is a total crime zone. I can't remember the name of it now.....

yeah, I'm gonna stick by my guns. MOST of Peoria is represented by the People in my circle

You mean the people that live in my neighborhood and in the similar neighborhoods that make up a majority of the city?

Well, after 8 yrs of Heavy Construction, 15 yrs of trucking and then moving here, I missed out on the Payroll Officer type jobs....

It is Director of Payroll Services and Paying Agents.

Ya know when I moved here I took jobs paying $10.00 an hour because it was all I could find...but I didn't accept that as all I could find forever and have since been able to move to higher positions. I wont apologize for that.

I never said you have to. Why are you SO defensive??
Two different paths, entirely.

Mine led me here with skills that aren't viable in Peoria, although, I may be back to trucking very soon. The one job that made me happy all the time and fit me like a glove.

Hip,

You aren't going to convince Leslie that most of people is filled with wannabe thugs and trash, just as she isn't going to convince you that it's rainbows and unicorns.

Clearly you see Peoria for what it is, experience it during the night and see what comes out after say 8pm. She sees it for what it is when she is in town before during and after work. Venturing into Peoria to head to the Civic Center or other "clear" area of town she isn't going to see the same things that happen.
