To all you MSM liberals that hate "Faux&quo...

NBC at it's finest. Stoking the racial tensions, very classy journalism there. Maybe Billy can finally get a job, they seem perfect for each other.

As exposed by Fox News and media watchdog site NewsBusters, the “Today” segment took this approach to a key part of the dispatcher call:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.

Here’s how the actual conversation went down:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.

Here is the thing that bothers me:

Police records show Zimmerman had called 911 a total of 46 times between Jan. 1, 2011, and the day he shot Martin.

who calls 911 that many times?

I think the incident is less about race and more about a cop-wanna-be-vigilante with a gun. When you look for trouble, eventually will find it...

He's the neighborhood watch captain...I think calls to 911 probably came with the territory. Without knowing the crime stats for his area, how many hours he "worked" and how many calls were bogus/frivolous, etc I will refrain from jumping to conclusions.

As for the gun, he was legally carrying it from what I've heard.

I didn't hear 2011, Weed. I heard 2004, which would make for a much more reasonable "handful" of calls per year.

I copied and pasted that sentence straight out of news article. But I can't seem to find that article in my history.... anyway... I found another one orlando WKMG says 2001. The way the news has been reporting this thing all over the place none of them may be correct... but either way 2001, 2004, or 2011, that still a lot of 911 calls...

How many 911 calls does the average person make in a year?

I have only made one 911 call in my entire life... it was to report an elderly man waking disorientated down the left lane war memorial drive.

I saw a log of his calls. Some were personal (problems with ex roommate), some were neighborhood watch-like (drunken guy in middle of the road, guy trashing pool area, car driving without lights and weaving in traffic, etc).

Its still odd, isn't it? Forty one 911 calls? The guy sees an emergency every time he turns around?

the "average person" is not a neighborhood watch captain. Comparing him to the average person is like comparing an infantry corporal in Afghanistan to a small town dog catcher and then asking "how many times does the average person discharge a firearm at another human being?"

So what is the average number of 911 calls for neighborhood watch captains? I am still gonna think its considerably less than 41. According to the last article I read, the neighborhood watch in his community was organized this past September. It sounds like many of his calls were made before being neighborhood watch captain... unless of course he made all those calls since September... but no news story has said that.

And of course, he totally violated neighbor hood watch rules by confronting the dude.

I've been trying to ignore this case, as much as possible, and now you guys have me googling stuff... dammit!

Forty one - 911 calls

I'm looking out my window right now and there is lady that I don't know with a dog with a rope around its neck. And she has her arm around a young boy who is walking with her. Perhaps I should call 911 - she is being cruel to that dog and she may be kidnapping that boy.

Oh, now I see recognizable neighbors walking down the street carrying a dog. Perhaps they are trying to steal that dog, I better call 911.

And after I dial 911, I am going after these people with my gun.

I would make a good neighborhood watch captain. :-)

GO FOR IT. As an aside, if you're going after people WITHOUT a gun...you're a fool.

Probably depends on the neighborhood you live in.

I was wondering about that too.

I heard that it was a gated community... which leads me to believe that only people who live there can get in... so why would they need a neighborhood watch. I'm thinking they wouldn't need a neighborhood watch, unless the neighborhood was having crime problems? And isn't that one reason why people live in gated communities, it supposed to be more secure?

I don't know, and we're off topic anyway. To answer your question AV8R, yes the liberal media is just as good as the conservative media at f'ing things up.

Here's the thing, every source of media is going to make a mistake... human's aren't perfect.

However, i would bet, and in fact, I think its even been proven... for every mistakes/distortions/bias the mainstream media makes... faux news make 10 times more.
