Anchor Porter is so much better than the Anchor Steam, but less well known.

I had a few Saranac White IPAs last night after work. Outstanding beer!

Luke, have you tried Wolaver's? I haven't had the Anchor Porter yet, but so far, Wolaver's is now probably one of my top 3.

Dead Guy Rogue was in the store, but at $14 for a 6pack, was a bit steep.

I've had their IPA, it was OK, nothign spectacular. Dead Guy Ale is fairly pedestrian...but Rogue makes some better stuff

I haven't had Shiner since moving out east. Their Shiner Bock is a great beer

never heard of Shiner.

Wolaver's... Friday was the first time I had ever seen/heard of it. They only had the oatmeal stout, but I loved it!

just tried a wicked hoppy brew. Hoponius Union. Sure is interesting, but I think I'm not really keen on so much hops.

Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale is currently my favorite beer. I have about 24 Australian Pale Ale's that I brewed if anyone would like to try it. Pretty hoppy.

I'm thinking about brewing my own. There's a place about 10 min from me that does "classes" for newbies.

I like the Shiners Wild Hare. I brew alot of my own beer. Most are IPA's, Pale Ales. Get most my kits from Northern Brewing or Midwest. Picked up some Flying Dog which is one of my top 5 companys that I like their overall selections. The farmhouse is good. They have a pearl necklace which is an oyster stout. It wasnt cracked up to for me. What is good is the Double Dog Pale Ale. Comes in at 11.5 %. NICE!!!
Just kegged a Sierra Madre pale ale and bottled a honey kolsh..

@flipper:

Love me Lienies....I even like taking the Summer Shandy and mixing some Berry in a tall frosted glass. Sam Adams has a beer Porch Rocker thats a lemonade style like the Shandy. and its really good as well. Only cant find it in 12 packs yet.

Remember when it was illegal to transport or sell Coors Beer east of Colorado?

I have a beer with a pizza at home, sometimes at a pizza place. Otherwise, I drink some at home for New Year's Eve, Super Bowl, sometimes a Cubs game.

But I prefer my beer nice and cold in a long-neck bottle or frosty mug. Usually Budweiser or Bud Light. I hate canned beer. But long, long ago, I did try other domestics like Heineken, Coors, Michelob.

But I won't rule out trying locally brewed beers.
