f you are in the 56%, then why would support cutting off funding for poor people's health care?

Joepy - there isn't enough spin in the world to make me believe that Planned Parenthood is a provider of "health care". Some day I'm going to walk in to one and ask for a physical, Pap test, mammogram and blood pressure check and see what they do.

To me, solving the problems of promiscuity by offering free and plentiful abortions would be the same as offering to those who eat too much bacon free and plentiful gastric bypasses. Why not work to stop/discourage the behavior? Doesn't that make more sense?

Study after study has shown that abstinence education has no effect on sexual promiscuity.

And what about married women? Should they be taught abstinence as well? Where will they get low cost contraception and pap smears if these clinics close?

I wish that you would do that! Of course they will ask you for your insurance information, your income and your charges will be based upon that. Its only free if you can't afford it.

a quick trip to Walgreens.com showed condoms for as little as $16.50 per 24 count. That's less than 70 cents a romp.

My sister used pp for years when she didn't have insurance...she got her anual exams, paps, and birth control. She never got an abortion there though...because she had birth control!

When I was younger and didn't have health insurance, I went to PP for pals and BC pills!!

I've NEVER been to PP for an abortion! It was affordable healthcare. I didn't have insurance until I was nearly 25.

You can't get a pap smear at Walgreens. You can't get a prescription for birth control pills without an annual pap smear.

You can get condoms for FREE at most low cost clinics.

Even Steven Colbert can't keep a straight face on the Walgreen comment:

Women, why isn't abortion allowed up to the moments before 'birth'?

At some point along the line even THEY have to cede to the fact that it's a human life they are terminating.

Not when they don't believe its a human life until they have fully given birth and the baby has taken its first breath.

Good point. And judging from some other posts, apparently only VAGINAL birth counts. A C-section baby can be terminated at will over the course of it's entire childhood I presume.

If a woman bought a car and left it parked in a man's garage overnight, does that give the man the unilateral legal right to completely trash that car, rendering it forever unusable?

Would the woman have any legal remedy?

I guess a car has more value to some people than the life of a child does.
