I was just listening to WMBD and they were interviewing the Sheriff and he said they called off the search because the "ground was wet" but it's supposed to be nice again on Saturday so we'll look then.

The only rational explanation I can think of is they gave up hope of finding him alive.

What the Hell??? It is possible that he's frozen to death.. HOWEVER, depending on his lucidity-mental togetherness, which the Alzheimer's Association could attest to, as could any doctor treating a dementia patient, he could easily have found somewhere to 'stay warm'..or like HK said..'hitched' a ride. I don't know all the details to his dementia or the way in which he left (did he have a coat? money? wallet? Safe Return jewelry on?) I haven't been watching the news lately (can't keep my eyes open), but have they given any info about if he can still carry a conversation? Does he know his name? His relatives names? Where he lives?

This is just so sad and frustrating at the same time.

Okay...I just read the article on pjstar.. He really could be ANYWHERE.

www.pjstar.com/news/x183258772/Man-with-Alzheimers-still-missing-after-night-long-search

"Even though he left with no coat and no money, he still could make it far. Aside from being physically fit - Beverly kept John in shape through regular long walks - he is gregarious and can hold a conversation for a long period without betraying his confusion.

It's possible he tried to make it to his boyhood home in Central Peoria.

"A lot of times, he'd talk about the home on MacQueen Street," Beverly said. "He'd say he hasn't seen his mom in a long time - of course, both his parents have been gone for 20 years now - and that she probably wanted to see him." "
