So what's the point of having a second lane if no one is supposed to get into it? The line is supposed to be single file all the way through the parking lot? That doesn't make much sense.

Obviously I'm not being very clear. There is a single file line through the parking lot (if there were two lines there would be no pass through lane) - as you approach the ordering area (whatever it's called) the line splits off with two or three cars in lane two. You choose which line you want when you get up there. That's the way it is supposed to work.

This is the N. University location.

Okay. I see what you mean. Isn't the one near University and War Memorial set up the same way? I agree it's the way things should work, but I'm not sure McDs could enforce that.

Lighten up.

Lighten up, really? That wasn't your response when Rivermen posted the pic of the woman being hit. Guess my philosophy of don't threaten women is only valid when it isn't your "joking" about it? I don't see women being threatened as a subject to even joke about.

If you're so concerned, why don't you ask the person to whom I was speaking if she is offended?

This makes me think of the people on the Interstate who, when approaching a construction zone, which narrows lanes, zips ahead until the very last moment before the lane is gone. Seen a lot of rage in Chicago over that. I saw one driver deliberately pace the 'cutter' forcing him to stop and hit one of those construction cone/egg things. You could see them yelling at each other.

The sign just right before the ordering area shows a Y...which to me shows that you form a single file line until you break off to the two lines close to the ordering area.

Same thing at the drive thru's at the bank. If 2 or 3 people are waiting in line for one drive-up, and another is clearly open, I'm goin' for it. Not my problem if they aren't paying attention enough to get with the program.

Same with turn lanes. If 25 cars are all lined up in one lane when there are two turn lanes, they'll be eating my dust.

When I am on my death bed, I don't want to think about all the time I had on Earth waiting in line like some flippin sheep.

I'm that guy! If traffic is being reduced to one lane, I'll also drive down both lanes if somebody is trying to sneak ahead. I get a lot of glares

No no no ... you are missing something. McDonalds then goes back to ONE lane at the drive thru window. Not really the same thing as a bank with multiple drive ups.

I confess. I'm a line cutter. If we are waiting in line, and you are yacking your head off and you don't notice that the line is moving forward, I'm going in front of ya. Fair warning...

Well that doesn't make sense, because at the McD's that PI is referring to, if you get out of line, you'll get the wrong food. Personally, I think PI needs to be a little more assertive in the double drive through. Just my pinion...

I considered pushing the cutters back out of line with my truck, but I decided that might not be the best idea; didn't want to scratch up my bumper ya know...
