Channel 25 news just did a small piece about a "new internet" called IP6. Anyone know anything about this. The news coverage just said it was a "new internet" that's being tested.

technically, ipv6 isn't really "a new internet." it's simply a new way to handle ip addresses (the home address of your computer) because the old format only allows for so many numbers and we've pretty much run out with all the phones and video games and computers in the world, not enough ip's to go around. ipv6 will fix that.

this has been in the works for years, not exactly a news breaking story.
