10- State National Guard troops being used as a standing army to fight in foreign lands.

9- Obamacare

8- The Commerce Clause being used to over rule almost all state rights (See GONZALES v. RAICH)

7- The USA Patriot Act

6- Roadside "Safety" Checks (As allowed by SCOTUS)

5- Imminent Domain

4- Executive Orders bypassing the legislative process (Czars)

3- "No Child Left Behind"

2- Judicial Overreach, legislating from the bench.

1- Governing decisions are ALWAYS better made locally.

Let me guess- you agree with Bush policies, NCLB, Patriot Act, but disagree with Obama policies.

Roadside safety checks are illegal in WI.

I don't believe ALL governing decisions are best made locally. Consider the abolition of slavery or the civil rights, if those decisions were made locally, some states would still allow slavery and some states would still exclude blacks from lunch counters.

Agreed- but the civil rights act is most assuredly a Constitutional Issue regarding the Bill of Rights. This is definitely a power of the US Government. Unlike telling me which light bulb to buy.

I agree with 70% of them. Most certainly, I agree 110% with number 8.

I've posted about that before on this forum. The courts have taken this so far that now, ANY use of the internet or telephone to commit a crime automatically triggers a federal nexus that requires the DEFENDANT to prove that the communication did NOT travel in interstate commerce.

Call your friend across the street, federal case law recognizes that by the very nature of telephone/internet switches and routing, it COULD HAVE traveled in interstate commerce, therefore it DID travel in interstate commerce.
The defendant bears the burden of proving otherwise.

This type of over-reach, more than any other thing, is quickly pushing me to the Libertarian Party.

Naw...leave it as Chicago, IL and let them have the bad rap of crooked IL politicians and taxes. The rest of us can start a new state that doesn't come saddled with negative baggage

You mean you weren't already a libertarian?

I could be a libertarian except I like interstate highways, national parks and laws that protect our environment.

I am not a full blown libertarian, no. I do believe in the individual rather than the government, but some aspects of the government are necessary. I'm more of a fiscal conservative with libertarian leanings.

Leaning more and more though recently. The repubs are getting as bad as the dems.
